Maybe this was too experimental?

First off, it's not bad. I kinda like the messy FBF style, but it really seems like you've overdone it. You don't have to scribble THIS much to make it look good, it'd still look great with half the lines.

I do like the background, but when it changes from the red splatter to the solid red background, it kinda changes the mood alltogether, in a way I don't like. If you have it minimalistic towards the beginning, you should keep it minimalistic. Heck, change the colors once in a while if you want, but don't go from minimalistic to a block of red.

I like it, it seems like you've gone a little over board with the experimentalism, but it has potential. If you keep in mind what I've said, I think the next flash will be great.

Everything you said has already been said by someone else. EXCEPT For saying that it was too experimental. Which I have never heard before. I have never really considered that something can be too experimental. I am intrigued.

"Hmm...I don't get it..."

=Animation/Graphics=

Animation skipped like hell, with basically everything jumping across the whole thing. It wasn't what i'd call smooth.

Graphics were strange. No colours whatsoever means no depth and that is not something you want. Also, outlines could've been more fine tuned and pronounced and the pictures need to arranged.

=Story/Concept=

Concept wasn't bad and what's with the lock btw?

Stroyline wasn't bad too. I didn't quite understand it though so you may want to avoid a complicated storyline or else describe it better.

=Audio=

The first piece of music you used was great adn it really put out the mood of the whole thing.

i didn't like the second one so much though and i think that you should imrpove that.

=Overall=

Not a bad job, but it needs more work . Work on some of the negatives i mentioned and u'll be fine.

Sry bout the short review but i really got a lot of stuff to do :(

"Experimental style"

date: October 3, 2009

The style of the graphics seems to be very experimental to me, but I didn't like it that much. It was wobbling a bit too much and too fast for my liking.

The graphical style also made it a bit hard to make out what we are actually seeing on screen and sometimes some pictures didn't really make sense to me.

I think it would work better if the whole movie had some more colors just like that one scene with the colored background. This would make things clearer and easier to look at.

I'm getting quite a variety or what people think I should have improved on. Most people didn't like the colored "scene".

"A nice style to it."

date: October 1, 2009

A good start, and you could take some ideas from this, but it bored me a little.

The animation was unique and original, plus it fit really well with the feel of the movie. I didn't get bored watching the movie with this animation. The graphics were OK as well, with some nice backgrounds, but I'd like a little more variety with them. The lines were too far apart and sometimes it was hard to make out what was in front of me, but still, for some scribbles, you did manage to portray an interesting picture.

The concept is original as far as I know, but the story wasn't gripping, too slow-moving, and I very quickly lost track of the movie, especially in the second bit, where the picture didn't move for a long time before going to some random coloured-scene.

The music actually fit really well with this and I can't complain about it. There weren't many sound effects, but they were OK. The voices were a problem, though, since they were barely heard, so you could either turn their volume up a LOT, or simply introduce some subtitles.

Overall, it shows that you worked hard on this, but the low-volume voices, random-ish scribbles, random story and strange second half of the movie need working on. Still, I see it's just a small experiment, so I guess it's not bad.

"Well,"

The style was pretty cool, actually. Experimental, and not that easy to see what's going on at some times, but it was cool. The background you use in the beginning fits the style, too. But then, near the end, I think it turned out pretty weird. I mean, did the video suddenly stop there? A padlock gets prisoned, and there it ends? I think you should've worked more on the second half, cause the beginning was good.

Author's Response:

I see that A lot of people actually like my style. And how I used the whole paint splatter on white plastic background. I think I might have used it the wrong way though.
