"Ideas"

date: 14 hours ago

Next game make a combo of government control and virus control. Let the player design a virus and try to stop it... or encouge growth. add new features like declare war then use bio weapons to infect other countrys and such. have the ability to rais and lower taxes on a whim, open stores, ration food, ect etc these are just ideas but i wouldnt mind seeing them in a game any time soon

"Great!"

It's a great twist to pandemic while still keeping many elements of gameplay! I'm hoping for a sequel.

"Another great one."

I really do like this version but something seems missing. There needs to be some way you can generate more cash... Maybe, give the player some cash with a penalty of a random chance of increasing panic?

I'm looking forward to what you have in the future, excellent games.

"A nice twist, I hope to see a sequel!"

date: October 17, 2009

Well, this is certainly a great twist to the original - instead of playing the virus, you play the government! I would hope to see a new sequel for this version of Pandemic (government) as well as the original version of Pandemic (virus).

I would like to suggest some pointers (perhaps for future sequels):
1) Random Virus/Location
In future, rather than use a real life virus with completely fixed properties, perhaps there could be a virus that is randomly generated with different properties. As such, elements in Pandemic 2 like having natural disasters, water supply, rodents/insects should be added. Also, perhaps each game could have varying locations, meaning instead of USA, you may be playing as the government in Japan or China!

2) Taxes
Well, the funny thing is, you can't control your taxes - panic does. Rather than make tax affected by panic, I believe it would be better if players can change the taxes imposed on the country, but would cause panic to rise faster proportionally. This way, players can generate more income each day without affecting the operations cost as much (which will be solely affected by panic), but have to control the taxes everyday in order to control panic. So if you impose high taxes, on a low-panic event, you can gain lots of cash and won't spend a lot on operations, but once it rises, you're pretty much screwed because the panic and operations cost will rise extra fast.

3) Mouse-over = Show name of state
Not every player is going to know the exact locations of each state in USA. It would be better if players could just mouse-over to know what state it is they are pointing at. Right now, the way it is, I have to painstakingly click each state to find out which state is which. Also, sometimes the feature whereby you can ping the state that is stated in the news and direct your view to it doesn't work all the time.

4) A news log
Problem is, sometimes so many news appear at once that old ones are just skipped even before I have a chance to finish reading it. It would be nice if a log of the news can be saved and easily accessed where necessary.

Other than the fact that players can just use one strategy to win the entire game (no matter the difficulty or government), good work.
