Hey Kids! Dad's Home! And He Brought Presents!

Glad to see dad made a comeback after about....3 years or so? I don't exactly remember. But when I first found Newgrounds , Dad's Home was the first funny animation I watched. And this game brings back all the nostalgia!

Gameplay - 9/10
Graphics - 8/10
Sound - 10/10
Replay Value - 10/10

+ Get to play as Dad
+ Lot's of replay value and goodies to keep you comin back for more

- The cutscenes look a little messy

So after Dad's long business trip , The wait was finally worth it!

Liked the story mode, good game, great replayability, but ugh! Phantom is so freaking hard! It takes no less than 15 minutes to chip down his health (unless he has some secret weakness, in which case why doesn't it glow?), and there's no health recovery for the fight. I don't know how to see the ninja for the secret ending, but I'm sure it's pretty good... Too bad half of the game is just out of my reach until I find out/ you post a walkthrough. You seemed to go all-out with the secret features, and while the regular game is good, the player needs a bit more guidance... perhaps post a walkthrough on your site, or give boss-specific hints? As for Phantom, if anyone wants to tell me what I'm doing wrong...

Armor phase-
How to damage: Hit with thrown weapon for minimal damage. Punching/bashing seems to do more, but leaves you at significant risk.
Why annoying: Takes forever to deal any significant damage, any weakness is unapparent.
AGH moment: When it punches you and sends you off the building, taking away a fourth of your health and making it impossible to catch-up and defeat him. Very annoying when it happens towards the end of the battle.
Suggestion: Either lower his overall health or make him take more slightly damage.

Ghost Phase-
How to damage: Blow up targets near him.
Why annoying: Targets come from the top of the screen usually, and all at the same time, so if you miss the dodge, you miss an oppurtunity to damage him and lose a good bit of health.
AGH moment: When everything's lined up and you hit space, only to have Dad not throw the box and then proceed to get hit in the face 4 times
Suggestion: Stagger the targets, make some come from sides, or only send three to make it more managable.

Virus phase-
How to damage: Hit the flashing purple box and pray to god he doesn't teleport away.
Why Annoying: Hitting any other part of him disperses him. Also, collision detection suchs to the point that my attacks go through him as often as his go through me.
AGH moment: Having him disperse on a perfect throw. Also, kinda funny, having him be damaged by the spawning boxes.
Suggestion: Take longer to teleport away, increase hitbox of weak point.

If there's anything I'm missing for this guy, please write a review, someone. Or respond to me, Sakupen. I give the game overall an 8- 10 for enjoyable experience, -1 for boss and continue frustrations, and -1 for half the game that I still can't get to. :(
