A great game, yes, but lacking in difficulty/evil

This is a great flash bullet hell game, but everything was a bit too straightforward. You never really incorporated any of the elements that made the touhou games hell. Examples:

Really fast bullets- All the enemies fire slow or medium speed bullets at best. Scraping is very easy to abuse with these, and you have too much time to find a pattern/blindspot.

Bullets from more than one direction- For the most part, you only had to watch what was coming in front of the ship; bullets never popped up from behind or from the side, or all at once. Would've made the game harder.

Bosses too easily hit: Most bosses are huge, hulking ships, and most of your available weapons have a relatively large hit area. With those two together, you're really just dodging bullets, which isn't much of a challenge. I would've liked to see a fast, small boss or something that actually forces you to move away from any blindspots in the boss's bullet patterns.

When I played Touhou 07, Perfect Cherry Blossom, on lunatic for the first time, I got crushed before even finishing a third of it. I beat stage 3 here on frantic on my first try. I know you really can't put a bunch of fancy features into a flash bullet hell, but this bridge in difficulty is really too great. if you plan on making another, make frantic mode live up to its name so only the experienced can beat it.

Frantic evolved!

lol!
yeah, i've played frantic 1...and... i admit... frantic 1 was a pretty hard game, but i managed to pass it, in the worst difficult without losing a life... and... here, in frantic 2... i have to say , my skills have been tested... and i'm still trying to pass it on frantic difficult...
I love hard games, and this one is a real hardy ^^

An amazing acarde shooter!

This is probably one of the best flash arcade shooters I have ever play. The game flows extremly well, the graphics are really cool, the music is sick, and the game complexity is great; this isn't just a boring game where you play the same thing over and over again. There is some great substance to this game with the different episodes and different game levels. Also have in-game achievments to unlock certain ships and weapons is always a good idea and will always keep an individual playing for hours in attempts to unlock everything (which is exactly what I did since I am a college student with no job and loves to put off his work). My only complaint was that frantic mode was not as hard as I thought it was going to be. Yes, I died the first time I played it, but it only took me two times to beat it. But still, overall, one of the best games that I have played on NG. My only suggestion is a little more quickness to the ships since you have bullets coming everywhere towards you. But other than that, with all the features, extras, levels, achievments, and gameplay, this is easily one if not the best arcade shooter on Newgrounds. I would love to see an even more complex third game, maybe with more weapons, ships, and or challenges (or a tougher frantic mode =P ) amazing job!!!

Fantastic Game!!!

I absolutely love this game! I'm a fan of arcade shooters to begin with, but this one takes the cake, the gold, and the throne.

Killer music, very very high energy, overdone just enough to be badass. The graphics are nice and simple, thus easy to distinguish and assess as the speed you must maintain to survive even just on normal mode. A very dynamic range of difficulty for any level of player was, I must mention, a very VERY welcome experience. The choice of weapons and "Wingmen" was also very close to perfect in my opinion. I'd rather be able to choose two weapons and switch during a level for the situation, but all in all that's the only real shortcoming I could find.

I found the extremely tiny hit-box a little cheap, but I think in the end it's a little necessary. I'm not complaining, because I enjoyed not dying, but it could have been a pixel bigger, maybe two.

The "scraping" thing is a nice touch I've never seen that before.

Superior game, I love it.
