4.15 / 5.00 16,883 ViewsThis is an educational flash game that is meant as a teaching tool to make learning the Morse code alphabet a little more fun. The training program contains 8 lessons. You are introduced to a number of letters from the Morse alphabet which you need to memorize to be able to pass each lesson.
Every third lesson is a rundown of all the previous ones. The last two lessons are special, as the first deal with all the numbers 0-9 in the Morse alphabet. And in the last lesson you need to be able to recognise Morse as sound.
All the tones have been slowed down significantly to make it easier to distinguish the different letters.
The background music was created by http://mugenjou.deviantar t.com.
You may download and distribute this flash freely.

Definitely helped
My one irritation was that I kept losing points when I thought it was asking for a letter vs. asking for the morse code. I think it would have been helpful to either not penalize for entering the wrong "type" of input, or always keeping what the user is supposed to enter in the same column, and always have the cheat sheet in the other column.

realy good
Great idea. You might not call this a game (jelovac) but it is interactive. You done a realy nice job making something like this. It is easy to learn morse code this way. I enjoyed it, so i give it 10/10 and a vote of 5/5.
It may be a good idea to add 2 other rundowns, one where you only have to type the letters and the other where you only have to type the morse code, both for the whole alphabet and/or numbers.

is this a game
Interesting, but does this really qualify as a game?
Maybe not, but it is certainly an interactive flash. :)

Perfect way to learn
The pace is just right, especially if you want to learn and not just "finish" the game. I love the method of first familiarizing with the letter codes, then guessing which letters they represent and only then having to type the code yourself. so Rexamilion, apparently you played only very briefly; you do have to type the codes requiring "." and "-" near the end of the session.
I passed through all the lessons and rundowns once or twice on easy mode, and was surprised to learn that I could actually get the audio as well after that.
Only two minor points of improvement:
- music gets tedious very fast
- sometimes I couldn't remember a letter during the last rundowns, and had no way of finding out which letter it was except by running the lessons all over again. I think it would improve learning if you could show the right answer at the moment you get it wrong or it reaches the bottom.
Regardless, very well done!
