One Dimensional Quest is an experimental game. The premise is that the entire game is played out in a single dimension, that is. There is no height, no depth. Length only. (final destination!)

The keys are
Up arrow: Jump
Left arrow: Move left
Right arrow: Move right

You play as the hero, the blue bar. Your goal in the game is to collect 8 leprechauns, the green bars, and return them to your home.

But alas, the way to the leprechauns are filled with peril. There are lava pits, red bars. Eeevil rogues, orange bars, boxes, yellow bars, and teleports, purple bars.

Your only defence against all these dangers are that you can jump for a short time to avoid them, but that in itself will not be enough to complete your quest.

Okay okay, you got me. The game actually got height as you can plainly see. Well I didn't want anyone to strain their eyes looking at the infinitely thin line representing the game so it pretty much ended up like this.

The music loop is from flashkit. Ghosts by Mark.

Enjoy!

Very confusing at first glance, but a instant classic once you learn the ropes.

I thought this was an error as I couldn't see anything happening in the beginning. Thank goodness I looked down at the directions and saw what the purpose was. I recall learning something about one dimensional objects and it's a cool concept to go with. The graphics, well, they were very nice for being one-dimensional. I do not think that anybody has ever made a game like this, so thumbs up for originality! I'm a fan of experimental stuff, you could say, so this was fun to play.

I must say, this game is a real head scratcher. Rather odd, but also unique and creative. Real thinking outside the box here.
