Thank you for FP newgrounds. You guys are awesome to make all things possible.

The original animation by Josh Wimble dared me to do this remake. I was hoping someone would have eventually done a remake because the original was so moving. So here I present my version and hope that all who have seen the original will be moved once more.

Music by Switchfoot.
Original story by Josh Wimble.
Animated by Patrick Majewski.

Decent, but I am bias.

I thought the animation overall was good, and even the music was at a standard that is better than average on Newgrounds. But in the end, I did not like the small religious factors thrown in at the end. As soon as I saw that church in that little black screen, I lost interest.

I don't mind anyone's beliefs. On the contrary, I think people should believe what they want to. I think you shouldn't mention it unless someone asks you though.

I'd say for the style of animation, music, and overall message... It's good. But the religious jargon knocks it down a few notches personally. Some people don't like religion, and others do. What I said earlier is a good rule of thumb: Keep it to yourself. If you did here, it would be a 10/10 and a 5. Before this is tagged as useless, it at least give more criticism then "IT WAS GOOD, LAWL!" or "I've seen better from a turd of the week." Can't appeal to everyone though, I'm afraid.

Not emotioally grasping.

I was watching this and having a fair enough time. But I did not feel paticuarly emotionally grasped. When the part with Jesus/God came I stopped the movie.
Possibly because I have not watched the original animation, I felt the transition became too quick. This is not because I am not easily emotionally moved. I often cry during movies or mangas, but this just didn't move me.

I did not feel very connected to the main character, and not at all connected to the people around him, and possibly because I'm an atheist I found the "finding God" thing quite provoking. I'm not generally irritated with christinanity, so this isn't usally a problem, but now it did. (although I love the volitaire qoute: "The first religion began when the first impostor met the first fool")

I want to finish with sorry. I truly feel like I've missied out on something potentially great, and if that is because of my religious views that's a pity really.
( I am completly ready to the "useless review" tag on this one)

points for effort

How the heck did this get up to the top 50? Ok personally i dont give a crap about the religion thing. However i am a little confused about FeedingAddictions last statement on not being "Man enough to face the facts that christ is better than anti-christ". Where did that come from?

Anyway back to the subject i really think this is an ok movie, but it really shouldnt be like the second best in the top 50. Maybe like number 30 or something but number 2?
Sorry, i just didnt find it very inspirational. But thats just my opinion, try harder dude!

Alas

Sadly I'm of the opinion that if you're inspired by someone, you should do something similar
Not
You know
Do the same thing over again
Imitation is the highest form of flattery
"I'm going to do the same thing but it'll like totally be better" is just insulting

Good till God

Was a good animation till "god" got dragged in. Then you lost me. Religion, the crutch of them morally weak.
