"A very interesting collab"
date: October 1, 2009
This was a creative concept for a collaboration for both animator and programmers. Each part left me eager to see what the actual game or movie would be like. I liked everything about this from the start. The preloader had an excellent design to it and I loved the scratchy effects in it.
Each part had something unique and interesting about it. Meet the medic was certainly the most well illustrated part of this. With great sound effects and voice acting. And wonderful humor as well. It had a humorous twist at the end which I loved.
Windows doors also looks very interesting and I loved how the preview didn't give out too much information to spoil it but did give out enough information to make me excited to see it. It wasn't neccessarily artistic since the fact it's just titles and windows screenshots but the music is what made it good.
I didn't really enjoy the farsnipe trailer in terms of being artsy. Most of it was just a black screen with scrathcy effects. but the fact that it was just so mysterious is what made it interesting. It also featured very good voice acting.
Afro spy also looks pretty neat and I thought it was pretty cool how at first you couldn't tell whether or not it was a game or a movie. But then as it progressed it became very evident that it was in fact a game. Plus it has a very cute style to the graphics and it had some very good tunes to go along with it. So it was a pretty good trailer.
Bubbleblitz wasn't a very detailed trailer plus it gave out a lot of information about the game therefor somewhat spoiling it. But I think that was a good idea because if you didn't give out enough information it proabably would not have been as exciting to view nor would it be something to be eager about the release.
The B team looks kind of silly and epic at the same time. The style that was used is what best contributed to it. I loved the whole black and white look. And how it had that cliche' Character introduction sequence. I am looking forward to this production a lot.
Grenades seemed to be kind of a boring thing at first glance considering the fact that it's just a plain background and a stick. but as the grenades appeared and the plot of the movie became clear I realized that it was going to be something epic and interesting. Although I could not tell whether or not it was a game or a movie. I would highly enjoy it either way.
Dance was kind of funny actually and I liked how fast the clip went by after the whole epic title announcement. The rotoscoping animation on the dancing guy looks wonderfully crafted and I'd loved to see the cool mix of dance movies with nice music when the movie comes out.
8 bit hero was a nice demo and my favorite part of this collab. The concept of what the game would be like came instantly and I'd love to see how it would turn out because it looks like a very interesting challenge.
Half life: Decampment looked pretty mysterious and interesting for the few seconds that it lasted. But it quickly cut off which was quite a disspointment because I really wanted to see what it would look like.
Anyways a great collaboration with an innovative theme to it. I would love to see a sequel.
