A unique take on the zombie defence genre.

The animation could use a little work, smoother transitions could be in order. Overall though, a very well done game. It looks like you put in a lot of effort.

Breaking the mold is a good thing

When I saw this initially I thought it was going to be another boring top down zombie survival shooter with more poor attempts at melee and even worse "story." For once, I'm glad what I expected wasn't done. I'll touch upon things in an orderly way for this game since I feel it deserving.

Story 8/10: Your typical zombie survival story, but it has a twist. This time YOU helped make the zombies. Very nice touch. It's almost like you're cleaning up the mess that you helped create. While the dialog is weak and somewhat scuffed up with grammar errors and such, at least it beats out a majority by HAVING dialog in the first place. Also... I don't think a person can use instinct alone to survive like that. I for one think he could have been a soldier or something and simply opted out for some reason (beats me why). Maybe smooth out some sentences and such and it'll be perfect.

Game play 10/10: First, let's look at the game play on its own. Side view, uses wasd for movement, and uses TWO keyboard buttons to attack and NOT the mouse. Right there you've topped about 80% of the zombie survival games out there. Now for combat. Simplistic, straight-forward, and is overall WELL DONE. You can attack while moving in any direction, even while running away! In a game like this? GOLDEN! This puts you above just about any other zombie survival game made with flash.

Weapons/Unlockables 10/10: Once more, a wide selection of guns to kill zombies faster and faster and with more efficiency. This is standard in any zombie survival game. However, how you handle them is different and worth A LOT of praise. You don't need money or exp for them... you just kill. Grab your weapons and just lay waste to the legions of zombies and receive rewards in the form of combo extensions for melee and new weapons overall. PLUS! You allow us access to the armory DURING game play! DURING GAME PLAY! That seems to be the antithesis of almost all zombie survival games because apparently we aren't allowed to use our shiny new toys as soon as we earn them in other games... but this game? Oh it delivers these toys to you in a shiny rapper, STRAIGHT TO YOUR HANDS. That is a very, very good thing. Also, you seem to give some guns special effects. Like the larger ones slowing you down... shotguns having spread and firing three bullets for the price of just one shell of ammo... Normally stuff like that might shove other weapons aside, but here it seems to serve a purpose. Mainly one of a slight bit of balance.

Pick-ups 10/10: All-in-all these were well covered. Bonus points, point multipliers, partial health recovery, full health recovery. While I didn't see one of those "BOOM DEAD" items that clear the screen of zombies, this game doesn't really need them since you can just shoot a dynamite zombie and blow up a whole group easily.

Overall average rating 9.5/10

What you've done here is a BIG deal. Out of the... probably hundred zombie survival games made over some span of time, you've stepped away from the pack of carbon copies and made something TRULY good out of it.
