Hi guys,

I made this movie to promote my upcoming comedy show called "The Blues". The show is a mix of Stand Up, Music and Film/Animation. This video should give you a taste of what it's all about.

I'll be performing "The Blues" in Melbourne and Canberra. Here's the details:

MELBOURNE
August 20-23

Canberra
September 17-19

"Very nice"

date: August 16, 2009

First off, the audio is the best part of this flash. The concept is well executed and I smiled a few times.

The animation was simple, but nice to look at. It wasn't stiff or boring, and you used a lot of color.

Only complaint is about one of the characters. What happened to the dad? It doesn't ruin the flash, but his absence denies us some more character development.

"Not bad"

Animation and graphics needed a tad bit more work, but the all around story and way that you developed the flash around the audio seemed to make up for some of the lack of animation. They weren't bad, but just more generic/not so great.

Some funny parts to the submission, not all the jokes were funny, but it did have its high points. An all around decent submission in terms of humor. Voices and audio also seemed to fit the submission alright.

"Nice flash"

date: August 14, 2009

It's a pretty nice flash. I like the idea you came up with to the audio. Showing how the mother reacts to her son's constant playing of the harmonica with alcoholism and suicide attempts was a good idea.

However, I didn't really understand the ending... or more like: I did understand it, but why does it end there? What happens to the son after he gets to school? And what happens to the mother after the son comes home again? ;)
And what happened to the father? He's never to be seen again after he handed over the present.

The coloring could use some more work as well. Some shadings here and there make the whole thing look more realistc.

"could use some work"

date: August 12, 2009

First off, you did good with the audio you had choesn to make a flash around it

Well, it was generaly not to entertaining to say the least. I liked how you showed the mother gettinf aggravated after the father had given the son that gift. But the story was lacking some action.

The animation style was dull and, did not use different shades of color, i did like the style you uesed. It just needed some shading in some places. When you tried to lip-sync with the mother, it was alittle off and could be fixed if you know how.

I have to say it was unique and was something special.

"Nice audio"

I think that this is a pretty decent adaptation of the audio that you found - a great idea to have the mother's stresses showing through after the kid has played his harmonica almost non-stop since his birthday.

The animation could use a little work, particularly with the lip-sync, as the harmonica is a little out of time in places. I'd say that with work, this could be expanded into a nice series, as it's a niche that I've not seen explored before in the thousands of movies that I've seen over my time here.

Keep working on it, you've got potential.
