After almost a year in progress, here's the beginning of The Awakening. Follow the tutorials, and enjoy!
If you play to the end, you will understand a bit more why it took so long.

If you find any bugs, please let me know.

"Laaaagggs"

I 'm waiting this game from "Awaikening: Preview", and there is a lots of work that has been done for now, but also too much to work on.

First and the main - I can't played the game due to incredible lags on the main "map". I dunno why it happens. Maybe because I'm using Opera or Windows 7 or something. But when it comes to a map - my controls respond over 5 sec. So I press a button and after 5 sec it respond =) It will sure ruin your game if you won't fix it. It lags when the trees are on and when they are off. And windows shows that you game takes 90% of CPU time =)

Second - as I wrote on "Awakening: Preview" you should make hotkeys for the magic, like in Diablo II were customizable F1-F12 for quick access to character skills. You should make 4 customizable keys which can be dynamically modified during a game throughout the inventory or through special "magic" window (BTW special magic window can give access to magic upgrades, to the use magic out of the battles on main map and so on). I think you should leave the 1-4 keys to the customizable magic instead of quality. Quality keys can be moved to the right part of the keyboard - they are not such often used commands after all.
At least make one key for opening magic menu and one key for items menu in battles. Now for the use of "heal" magic I need to open menu, miss the "heal" with the mouse - and have to open the magic menu again, as it closes when mouse leave it. It takes me 4 times to open magic menu for 1 time to use heal =)

Third - as I can suppose from only the beginning (Due to lags, which blocked my paly further) - with such leveling system there can be problems with the balance. You should work out the balance pretty well before release. Pay serious attention to this point.

Forth - It's annoying to get to battle after only a few steps. Have you played "Legend of Dragoon"? You could make some battle pointer over the head of the main character - which show how long till the next battle. Via color for example - Green->Yellow->Red triangle...

I would write more if I could play your game more. But TERRIBLE lags preventing me to do that =(

Yes I know the game needs tons of work. Right now, I haven't worked on it for months, I feel quite overwhelmed by how much the graphics lag for alot of people and the fact that I'd have to redraw everything, so the production is at a halt right now.

"i got to say something~"

1.there is a bug when you change into the strongest weapon.....caleb AND ryan both jump into the battle,and when ryan dodge's caleb doesnt,and at the end caleb dies= =
2.sometimes the tress's are very annoying,altough we can use that item in the inventory but once you do it lags HORRIBLY
3.caleb is too weak at the start and waaaaayyyyy too strong after he gained some levels
4.both caleb and ryan's final limit break(deep chaos,final vengance) cant be used since they dont have enough mana

thats all,but this is an awsome game!!
since this is just a demo,i hope that the problems above can be fixed xD
good work!!!!

I haven't realized Caleb gets too strong after a while, but the rest I knew, and will be fixed.

Personally i absolutely love this game. It is one of the best on NG. Though there are a few problems. I know its been said a million times before, but here it goes
-Bad
-Absolutely HATE how much i get attacked. It gets very annoying when every 5 steps i get attacked.
-The movement is slow
-The spells and limit breaks need their own buttons(also dim down the time it takes to use them)
-A map would be awesome
-And a little better graphics(though i don't really care about graphics nice ones are a little bonus)
-Good
Fricken AWESOME battle system. I LOVE the way you can string together various combos.
-The Story is very good. It interested me very much
-Basically everything about this game is good
Personally i think you could be the top-rated RPG on NG. And if I was a game developer(which is one of my dream jobs) i would be facinated with this game and mass produce it. Keep up the great work man. Maybe someday a fancy game designer will take you under their wing.
But all in all The good Outweigh the bad.
