that would make a great movie

good opening for a movie or flash, if your going to make it ill be waiting to see it. could use some sound though, it would draw a little more attention

fluffyjackal responds:

Thanks. It will be completed and made available on DVD.
Hopefully the finished version will be allowed on Newgrounds, as it may exceed the 10MB limit.

Looks promising

It looks nice, although one thing that bugged me was that the screen seemed to be in the wrong ratio for the video. You didn't do the fades over the entire screen and the bottom of the person was just cut off.

fluffyjackal responds:

Fixed it. The original video is 1280x720 HD. Newgrounds limitations maxed out at 934x700, so it distorted the aspect ratio and showed normally hidden portions of screen... Fixed!

Thanks for the input. I hope it all works out. :)

The trailer looks good. The artwork looks pretty, and the background music fits with the overall feel.

However, for this to be considered for a higher score, it would have been better to include an action sequence or something of the like to really entice the audience. Another suggestion is to have a voice-over providing a back story instead of the text.

Having a slideshow of the artwork and a a few screens is fine and all, but you would want to leave the audience with something memorable so they would be inclined to watch it when it's ready. It wouldn't hurt including a few seconds of actual movie footage, that is if it's readily available.

On that note, I would hope to see the full movie sometime in the future. It looks like a lot of work has been put into it. Cheers.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Unfortunately, this teaser was thrown together in very little time to gather hype at a convention. The music was recorded last second, the animation had major issues, timing is off, etc.
I agree 100% with your input though, those are all useful things that will be included in the follow-up trailer (to be released prior to the film's premier in December). In the full video version of this trailer (not this flash versio) The shots of the ship's exterior are actually 3D camera fly-by movements, but the high-quality serverely lags the flash. This was the quickest way to repair the problem for flash... However, the other version will be available on YouTube soon.

Aaron's Journal 20k will be available by December 2009 on the web, and should make DVD by January.
