Reminded me of Final Fight

I had fun with this. I like how you can choose different paths and it isn't completely linear. It reminded me of old school Final Fight or River City Ransom. Anyone remember the original Double Dragon? I like how you incorporated an aspect from that game: that you started off with basic attacks and learned more as the game progressed. Though I think it could've used more combos and more basic attacks. Maybe some grab and throw style moves?

The only dislike I really had about this game is that there isn't a whole lot of difference between the weapons other than visuals and slightly different boosts to stats. They all had the same length and you pretty much fought the same way with each one. It would have been nice if you threw in some variety with the weapons... change their lengths at least and make noticeable differences in strength and attack speed. Like the bo staff could be twice as long but not deal as much damage. Or whatnot. And stuff.

I think the different characters should also have fought differently rather than just being different skins of the same thing. Like the swamp creature... what about being able to use the attacks they use against you? That was something I always like about being able to unlock enemies in more 'traditional' video games.

The leveling system could have been more involved to. I feel the game wouldn't be missing much if it was taken out.

And who doesn't like ninjas?!

This review became a mind dump. Enjoy.

Thanks for the long mind-dump review! :)
I would have loved to add more stuff to this game, but the ugly truth is I simply did not have the time. The unlockable characters (skins) were a bonus and I didn't even plan on making that possible, but I wanted to cram as much into the game as I could. Making every weapon different lengths as well as giving you different attack moves with each one and giving you different attack moves with every unlocked character would have required months and months of more work and time which I simply didn't have, so sorry about that...

Glad you like the game :)

shing! shingshingsging BOOM!!

ninga style baby, sweet game espesely loved the last move u can unlock really helped and just like Bguardian said " 'small' bosses - dissapointingly easy :( "
but it was fine with me, great switching with the enemys like in the oni cave and swamp (im only on 2nd out post) and adding the normal one in the midle gave a great relife to tughher combat. in other words great balance. BUT there is no way, that i found, you could undo a point u placed like when i finish a ll and forgot to lvl up i accidently placed it right there :( and couldent undo it but GREAT game overall

Great review, thanks!
Yeah, I know it sucks that when you want to undo your point distribution you can't. The whole leveling up thing was quite confusing for me and I'm just happy I got it working my first time around.
Glad you like my game and thanks for the ten!
