Ridiculously Good

This. Game. Rocks.

Really.

You could seriously make a decent amount of money with this,
A huge amount if you finetune it some more.

The first and most obvious improvement would be that all the characters are the same. You don't have to write a unique move list for every character, just give 'm all one special move or something.

Also, it would be cool if they each level up easier or better in a particular skill.
I'll try to explain what i have in mind.
Now, every level you gain one point, which you can use to imprve either strength armor or speed by 1. What if you gain 3 points per level and it costs 3 points to improve any of those stats by 1. But for the unlockable characters, one of those stats costs only 2 to level up. This would be a small tweek that adds quite a bit of replay value.

Speaking of Replay Value, it would be nice if after the final boss, you would unlock some kind of 'arcade mode' or 'arena mode', in which you can specify certain waves of certain enemies, and then test your skill on them.

Anyway, even without these additions, this is one helluva game you made there mate. I am rarely impressed, so this really is something ;)

Side note:
In the "fortified plains" level, right before the final boss, near the end you are awarded with 4 chests. One of which is above the playing field, making it impossible to hit it. I bombed it, and the explosion did open it, but i could only collect half of the coins, because they fell outside of the walkable area.

Final Score:
Graphics: 10
Animation: 10
Soundtrack: 10

controls - intuitive, and able to handle the much needed micromanagement
'small' bosses - dissapointingly easy :(
final boss - brutal yet satisfying

9.8 > rounded up to 10 :D

Wow, thanks for the great review!
All those "little" tweaks you recommended for the game actually does take a lot of hard work and time, and the unlockable characters were already something I hadn't planned and put into the game as a bonus. I would have loved to put more things into the game like animals you can ride (mounts) and arenas etc, but the ugly truth is I simply did not have the time, so sorry about that :(

Oh, and about the 4 chests at the end of the Fortified Plains, well, the thing is, because of technical reasons, when you move up and down throughout the stage A LOT, objects start to lose their original places. That's why sometimes you can't reach that chest. It's never happened to me though, otherwise I would not have kept it their, sorry about that...

Glad you like my game :)
