Eric and I have been told that explosions don't make sound in space... we think it'd be awesome if they did.

Vector Boom pits your space station against a vast incoming armada of spacecraft. Fortunately you've got an awesome weapon on board. Click and drag your mouse outward to create a blast radius that will destroy everything in it's path. But watch out, the bigger the explosions, the more energy you will use up!


Controls are listed in game. Click and drag the mouse to create a blast radius and destroy enemies / pick up power ups. 'P' for Pause.

Walkthrough / Tips:

* It's best to click in the center of a cluster of enemies and drag outward since your blast radius is just that, a radius, and starts in the middle.

* Kill enemies that shoot at you first!

* The Max Energy power up gives you infinite energy so let those full screen explosions rip!

The gameplay concept is great, but I think there should be a bit more variation in the types of enemies or something, at LEAST in the music. The game kind of drones on and on and on and the same music is playing the whole time. I really did nearly fall asleep several times trying to get the medal in survival mode (and for some reason it DIDN'T give me the medal when I reached that score, and after all that time I just wasted, I'm VERY disinclined to try again).

So yeah, I had fun for a while, but maaan the game is a chore. It's mentally exhausting sitting there doing the same thing for literally up to 2 hours.

For the survival mode score, I'd recommend making the difficulty grow faster, but setting the score lower. That way it balances out and isn't boring.

Overall, I'd really like to see you make a sequel and add tons more ideas to this foundation you've created here. :)

chancy powerups get annoying

Game seemed pretty fun, though last level got retarded as it just made me not want to play anymore for lack of powerups. Hell it wasn't even a lack of, but the massive intervals between getting 4 of the same powerup at once killed me, and wtf maybe powerups should stack timewise, as 3 or 4 of the same thing coming once every 38 seconds is not fucking useful.

I guess it was one of those variables that's complete chance, but it sure made me give the fuck up.

Fun revision of classic game. Powerups ambiguous

The Good: Very fun game! It's like a combination of asteroids and missile command. Because of the game style itself, you can't really have gun upgrades like scrolling space shooters, so it's good that you created powerups. I like the varied spacecraft and the ability to maximize the potential of your space ship.

Areas for Improvement: Each powerup needs a unique and recognizable icon. Simply changing the color between them all is confusing because the typical user won't be able to remember which is which. You have a nice variety of ships, but perhaps a change of setting as you progress (with a corresponding change of enemies) would be good for this game, as playing in space indefinitely with the same waves of enemies gets old after a while. Consider integrating cookies into the game so the website keeps track of whose beaten it and who hasn't. My web browser crashed after beating it, so to get the survival medal I had to go back and re-beat it (something I didn't want to have to do...) so it'd unlock the $100,000 and I could buy the powerups to wi the Survival Medal.

Fun game :) I enjoyed beating it (the first time through...) and getting the medals.

Pretty fun

but there was lag and for some reason it felt like the difficulty rose too quickly. Its like there was level one then two and then 10 and then 15 and then 30. Seriously dude, you need to work on that. Even with upgrades, if you didn't use them in the right order, you would not stand a chance. If only reload speed could be faster...
