Hmm, different.

I also watched you submit this more than once? Was there a specific reason behind that?

~ Animation/Graphics ~

These were very poor in most cases. The layout seemed alright, but could have looked so much better. The area that you had the names would usually make you use two different colored fonts. Instead you should have simply moved the name up a little bit and wouldn't have to worry about the colors.

The font that was used on the bottom was very hard to read. There should have been less story with the long ones so we could let our minds do the work more. The font was too small and blurry in most cases.

Some pictures were just very poor all around. Some needed a lot of work done and some were very hard to read because of how small the words are and how sloppy they were. Let's just say I had to use the zoom button a lot to get a good read out of them.

Don't get me wrong though not everything was bad. There were quite a few good artists in here. I think the poor artists might have outnumbered the good ones, but their were some really good ones in there.

~ Story/Content ~

A good idea nonetheless, but I think it was poorly produced. The storyline was very poor. I know things like this happen sometimes, but I just couldn't keep up with the story. In the beginning someone had died before anyone had even died in the artwork or story line. That was just one of many things that didn't make any sense or follow.

Sometimes there was too much text to read and it just made the story boring as it dragged on. The thing that worked the best was when the story line matched up well and when there was little to read and a lot for us to figure out on our own with the artwork.

~ Audio ~

I really didn't like the audio piece that you picked, but I can see that you picked it because it was a relaxing piece to listen to making it easy to read an listen at the same time. I almost think that a different genre would have worked for different sections so perhaps you could have thought about coding it so it changes during certain pictures or something like that. More small loops would have worked nicely for that.

Also, mute button is nice for people who don't want to listen to music while reading. I know I'm one of those people.

~ Overall ~

A good idea, but just done poorly. Hopefully I had some good ideas for you. Keep on working hard.

I did like a decent amount of the drawings here. I liked the story at the beginning with the construction zone, but I thought the story went off too far from the original. I guess that's destined to happen in this type of thing though.

Well my main problem with this was the main layout. I think you should have increased the size of the flash document and the images themselves. A lot of the images were too small and distorted to even try to read.

Another thing was that characters seemed to appear and disappear at random. A perfect example is the Russian war veteran who appeared for two frames and was never explained. Another would be the construction workers reuniting in Paris.

Overall this was decent, I enjoyed it at some points. Other parts just confused me.

A nice show of drawing skills from across the BBS, ranging from the insightful to the downright bizarre. The main issue with this is that I think there needs to be some sort of a sister thread for discussion about this and authors are given their own chance to bounce ideas off each other before putting a submission down.

For me, the random factor was too much. I really dread to think what the result would have been if this had been launched in the General Forum :P

Aside from the more obvious issues with the drawing skills, there is the state of the layout - rather basic, being a slideshow that has only one song playing to accompany it. Perhaps you need to branch out and pick different tunes to accompany the mood of the piece, as it changes throughout. Either that or just put a selection of tunes up, so that people can chop and change as they see fit.

(title in work)

Heh, I never knew such fun stuff went on in the Art Forum. I've never seen a submission like this, in which users created a story from their pictures. I'm more used to art collabs with just a single theme, so this was a nice change from that. My main problem with this is that you made this such a small resolution. The art's quality was compromised a few times I feel, and it would have been simple to just make this a larger resolution to get most pictures closer to their normal dimensions.

It's an alright submission, I guess

It was indeed an art collab by many different people, so I won't need to comment on lack of animation.
The art as a whole was alright to the extent that even without the relatively tiny text (decently legible though... consider sans serif next time) it was almost possible to understand what was going on.
It was very random, and unfortunately, not very funny to me. It was also very long. I know it was called "The Never Ending Journey". but halfway through I was forced to stop reading and click to see if it did indeed ever end- it did. The thing is the art isn't spectacular, and the text is a pain to read paragraph after paragraph, and attempt to make sense of it.
The music isn't too bad- it's calming and sort of a good background song (maybe a little quieter). However, I don't think this piece needed to be 5.8 MB long. Perhaps next time you could choose a shorter song/loop and optimize the audio so it doesn't become so huge. Maybe you could do something about the image sizes too. Oh. Add a mute button for the music next time too, in case.

So in short, I rate this animation as an 'okay' and-
Optimize your audio/video further
Sans Serif fonts are easier to read than fonts like times new roman
Mute button

Decent story though, if not a bit long =)
