Hey there Newgrounders

This is Steven from CerebralFix. This is our first game from our studio in little ol' New Zealand - the land of the Kiwis and Conchords!

As this is our first game we thought we'd have a go at a classic genre - Tower Defense! While we are all avid Tower Defensers we really wanted to bring in something new for you guys. So we came up with the tower casting system. You use the mouse to draw symbols that will summon/upgrade/sell towers! Not only that, you get to collect those little creepy guys souls after your towers blast them! Sweet!! So make sure you're on your game, you'll need to pay attention and use your brain a little.

We made this game in a little under a month. Pretty quick really, but we were keen to see what we could do in the short timeframe. We had 4 people working on it:

Ryan "Gotenks" Jenkins : Programming, Sound Effects and Music
Kevin Hsu : Art
Campbell Crawford : Art
Wilson Teo : Balancing
Steven Linton : Owning the other guys at Foosball!

Anyway, keep and eye out for these names, we will grow into a force to reckon with! We are committed to the gaming scene and the awesome communities like Newgrounds.

But like anything, you don't get it perfect the first time. We'd really like to hear what you guys think of our game...what you like...what you don't...what new stuff you'd stick in it!

Enough from me now...just play the game already!!

OK, a final note...

HOW TO PLAY:

Draw rune symbols with the mouse to build towers (just hold the left mouse button and start dragging)
The runes are shown on the panel at the bottom. You can upgade and sell using the same system.
Collect the souls (your money) by mousing over them once the creeps die.

"Pretty damn good"

date: October 29, 2009

It was a great game, and it's very original. The soul collection thing makes you pay attention, and makes it even more different than the other games. The only thing is that it is a little hard when you are about to let a guy get through and you can't do anything about it, and the towers don't do enough damage, even with upgrades.

But overall, it was a damn good game, nice to see people thinking of new ideas and putting them to work.

Great game, it needs more agressive music, oh and the "draw to summon" system really is cool!

"Interesting"

Good game ish. I am glad to see finally some innovation. I really really like the consept of the "draw to summon" system. I think its a good idea and in genral it works without any problems. My only problem is, when you're under heavy attack its annoying to have to perfectly draw the symbols. Aside from that I have no complaints about the system. Also the having to grab the souls when you kill the monsters is nice in theory but is somwhat of a pain. Now to the actual game. I found it decent. Its just another TD. The animation is if-ish. Standard grid based tower placement system. No real unique enimes. decent, not bad at all just not amazing.
7 out of ten for the game. Plus 1 for the fancy "draw to summon system"
