Nostalgic Creation

This is a cool game, it takes you right back to the days of yore... and imps!

However, I'd recommend making some cosmetic changes that would make the environments read better, for instance: reduce your parallax layer's brightness the further they go back, not only will this make the foreground more visible, but it will also make everything more interesting.

Other than that, thumbs up!

I liked it

but i definatly see room for improvement. I loved the look and the pseudo 3d background. The sounds were great and the character's animations were well done for what it was.

What could have made it better was some ability to crouch/dodge. The only effective means of dodging so far is jumping, which isnt possible in some areas and the way certain levels are designed, you are forced to just eat the pain. imo, the player should always have an oppurtunity to reserve their health. I would review/redo some of the areas in the game where the player is just forced to take damage because he has no other recourse.

Someone mentioned this earlier but it bears repeating: backpeddle while firing would signifcantly increase a players ability to deal with monster projectiles. It also makes the combat a bit more exciting when you have more options other than run, jump, shoot. The nice thing about giving more options to the player is that it allows for gameplay to expand as well, allowing you to be more creative with level design to increase the challenge.

Also, forcing players to fight creatures on the biohazard is a bit tedious. Sometimes a biohazard suit isnt even offered. I know the original doom somtimes had areas like that but the original doom also offered a sprint button.

All in all, like I said, a good game, but a few gameplay changes away from being a great game. Good luck on future flashes!

Graphical Glitch

I'm not sure if other Mac users experience this, but the screen shakes a lot even when you're just trying to move. Cool game though. Keep it up!

It seems to me that this happens if your screen resolution is not high enough. (You could try playing the game directly from my homepage).
However, I'm trying to hunt that bug down. Thanks for the Reply.

it's a pretty decent game

but it lacks the ability to backpedal and shoot at the same time. it's also more difficult to dodge, since the only way to dodge is by jumping.
