Update: Daily 3rd and Frontpage, thanks a bunch Newgrounds, you guys rule! After reading reviews I decided to make the game a bit easier since a lot of people were finding it too hard. If you're still stuck on the last boss, it's probably because you forgot to upgrade your HP. Don't go rushing in there with 25 HP, he'll just kill you in two hits.

Thank You For This...

I've been going through a tough time in my life lately, but this story, this game has showed me to never give up hope. What would have happened to the village had the hero just given up when it caught fire? How could I call myself a man and just turn away from my problems? You have shown me the true meaning of strength.

The symbolism in the story was too deep for me to understand at first, I had to replay it a few times before I fully got it.

The brother in the story is our own doubt nagging at ourselves, bringing us down. But that same inner voice can be turned and used for good if you just put your mind to it.

Of course the classic if you don't succeed at first try again philosophy is how I first interpreted the king and his resurrection, but I didn't see the deeper message in there; There are simply some things that we as humans cannot control, and the laws of the universe will sometimes seem like they are against us (like the bad guy coming back no matter what we throw at it) but if you lose hope, all will be lost. You can never forget who you are, you must always live by you own code, and you must always hold yourself with honor, and in that way, the universe will clear a path for you.

I thank you for this message good sir, and I will use this to get my life, my job, and my marriage back on track.

Again, thank you.

Awesome!

Pretty much the best thing I have seen on Newgrounds this decade!
The graphics/animations were stunning- I hooked it up to my 40" HD TV to get the full effect...combined with 5.1 surround I was immersed in this distant war torn land of adventure and opportunity.

I dimmed the lights when I was journeying through the forest area, i'm not ashamed to say that I nearly jumped out of my skin when the ambush hit. That was a hairy situation.

The ongoing tutorial was a must, and I think it should be adopted by other game producers when making games of this complexity. Bewildering controls and features really can be a turn off at first- thanks to the tutorial I found my feet quickly.

If there was anything that I would change it would be to include a scoring system as something of a yard stick for comparison- I think I am getting rather good at this game but have no means of testing such a theory.

Also- you missed a trick when the guy fell asleep, there could have been a dream sequence... unless the second half of the game WAS a dream! Man! I get it now!! I've been living a lie! WE are ALLLLLL living a lie! I finally understand.

Thank you so much for this gift, years of therapy couldn't do what this masterpiece did for me after a few days of intense playing.

Please make a sequel!?
