Hi everyone, Uptown-SlimJim here with a special treat for all the internet to enjoy. As you may or may not know, I've been a semi-regular here on newgrounds since January 2005. I've made three long-running series, one spin-off series, and one collection of shorts. They've all been met with varying degrees of success (The only time I ever got on the front page was when something got screwed up with the servers during maintenance) but they've all been original works and they each found an audience. Not bad for a guy who started tinkering with flash as a hobby.
Which leads us here...this will be my 50th cartoon on newgrounds, and likely my last. I've had a good run and I always felt obliged to go out with a bang. Devotees will know that every time I wrap up a series I like to finish with a three-part finale, well consider this single 24 minute long cartoon to be the feature length conclusion to the entire Uptown-SlimJim universe.
I tried to make this as easily accessible to newbies as I could, but it's also crammed with subtle winks and nods to things from past cartoons so longtime fans are sure to enjoy it a little bit more. Plus it stars all the major players from my other cartoons so knowing who those guys are would be a big help. The story is really about my character, though, and how he tries to get into the world of online entertainment. Call it vain if you want but after 49 cartoons of being a supporting character it's about time my guy had a story of his own.
This cartoon was a pretty big deal for me to be honest, and to help sell that point I invited back nearly everyone who had ever provided a voice of me before. What that means is that not only is this the longest cartoon I've ever made, but it also boasts the largest voice cast, including the return of voice acting goddess Rina Chan and a cameo by a very special guest. It also features several real bands who submited their awesome tracks to NG but, for whatever reason, don't always get them featured in a cartoons. I wanted this toon to have a real movie vibe and the live-band soundtrack and large cast went a long way to make that happen. So a big thanks again to the bands and my voice acting friends and contemporaries.
So that's it. I want to thank all my fans (Both of you) for supporting me all these years and enjoying my work. Sorry it all has to come to an end but if I don't stop this ride now I'll probably do this forever and I just can't have that. Hopefully this 24-minute fan service will make up for it. Oh, and if anyone complains about the poor animation or character models again I'm going to explode.
Peace out... and sorry about the long load time.
