The aim of the game is connect 5 of your suit symbol, either red (STARS) or blue (STRIPES).

Any given game of 'Connect Wars' plays out in a similar style to many tactic based board games such as 'GO' (originated in China over 2,500 years ago, a strategic board game for two players) or 'Blokus' (players must choose their tactics carefully, trying to expand their own territory while blocking their opponents). A good description of the 'Connect Wars' game system would be 'GO' meets 'Connect Four' (aka Plot Four, Four in a Row, and Four in a Line).

* The major change in version 1.1 is that the computer player in 'solo play' now uses ALL the trump pieces.
