You can't be gray in a black and white world.
You see, there was one big fight over something, and one of the protesters does his best to sway people to his side - and it works! But he realizes that there might be some truth in the other side's arguments so he switches and does the same he was doing before but with a little bit of the first side thrown in, making it more difficult to make people understand him because he holds a slightly middle ground.
This happens several times, with the protester reaching more and more the middle ground until he understands that there needs to be a total compromise of both sides to achieve PEACE. But now no one understands him. 'Are you black or white?' they ask, and when you answer 'I'm neither - I'm gray', they ignore you. You must surely be lack or white. There is no middle ground ti them.
And so a little bit of gray is lost in a world of black and white.
