Author Comments

First version, if you have any tips then please tell me.
I didn't invent this game, I just re-programmed it for the fun (see Wikipedia link)
Click and drag your mouse over the grey area and click go.
Rules:
Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if caused by underpopulation.
Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by overcrowding.
Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives on to the next generation.
Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours becomes a live cell.

update1:
I listened to (some of) the comments and have made the grid visible, I have also made it square and larger. Tell me if it is running too slow.

update2:
I listened to (some more of) the comments and have made the grid even MORE visible :p (i.e. The cells have a border round them). I have also added two new features:
Choice of grid size.
Choice of speed.

WARNING: with large grids and very low delays you may get lag, and your processor will have to work quite hard.

fun

my colonies made a heart

fun! and. rip collonies

i was fun but my colloinies died.
aw. oh well..

classic

I love the replication of such a classic.

Some ideas for improvement/future versions:

music
ability to save created environments (and maybe even share with others)
multiple colors (have a red/blue option to create two contesting "species" of colonios)

Pretty cool

I would suggest a way to set a speed at which it changes the points, Other than that, it is pretty cool

cool

a pretty cool little sim. its fun to watch it for a while afterdrawing something. would like to see a goals to do, such as make a colony 10+ in size for a certain amount of time or something.
