This was done as part of my capstone, and is my first serious attempt at a flash game. I'm a music lover at heart, so the idea came naturally. I would love to hear your feedback, good and bad!

====== UPDATE: December 05, 2009 ======

Thank you all very much for your feedback, negative and positive! I have recently started working on a sequel, and I hope to have it ready by the end of the year!

Two of the biggest things I am addressing with the sequel are performance and difficulty. You can expect crisper, smoother gameplay, and songs that focus less on ambidexterity and more on melody. I've been struggling to find a balance between too easy and too hard, and I think the sweet spot is somewhere just a little bit harder than this game's "Harder" mode, but not as difficult as "Hardest" mode.

I'm also planning on introducing new game features that are unlocked as you play. And of course, TREBL2 will feature tons of awesome new music - because that's what this is really all about!

Either I'm a total retard, or my number keys don't work with this game :-S They work here "1234567890"... Strangeness, you get a 7 cuz I luv flash-DDR concepts :D

Author's Response:

Hmmm, that is unusual. Is it possible that you switched to letter-key controls, instead?

Either way, glad you like the concept! Be sure to check out the sequel - it's gonna be leaps and bounds ahead of this one. ;D

It's a real challenge... Really...

Author's Response:

Yeah, the level of difficulty has been the one thing I've received the most feedback on here, and it's one of the biggest things I'm trying to address in the sequel.

Rather than send a massive barrage of slow notes at the player, forcing them to think ambidextrously, I'm planning on sending faster but simpler patterns, giving the game a smoother learning curve and a stronger sense of melody.

Stick around for the sequel, it should be ready around Christmas!

"Awesome for music lovers!"

The game ran a little choppy on my old laptop at work, but when I played it on my home computer, it ran fine, and this game is AWESOME.

I hope you're coming out with another one soon!

The controls are so SLOW that I can't even play the game and I have a top of the line pc! 1/10 for trying. 0/5

Author's Response:

If you're having trouble running Flash games, your computer is probably not "top of the line".

With that said, however, I am sorry that you weren't able to play the game smoothly, and I do understand that this game is much more of a resource hog than many others.

One of the biggest things I'm trying to improve with the sequel is performance, so that the game will run more smoothly on all machines.

"Control oddity"

date: November 14, 2009

I can tell you've put a lot of effort into this... but I would really love it if you could let me assign the notes to ASDFHJKL instead of SDFGHJKL... the way it is now seriously throws me off.

Author's Response:

I'll definitely try to add more flexible control schemes in the sequel. The current keyboard layout was designed with the full 10-key Hard mode in mind, but since most of my players seem to prefer the 8-key Medium mode, I'll be sure to provide better support for that!
