"Faithful to...the arcade version?"
Having been a fan of the Sega Genesis edition of the game, I figured I'd give this one a shot.
I don't know whether the arcade edition was supposed to be this slow or if it's a limitation of Flash, but I found myself more or less invincible for the first stage until the boss showed up. Frankly, it started to get grating another stage in.
Or maybe I've been spoiled by the twitchiness of R-Type Delta, I dunno.

You'd think it'd be easy to not get hit in this classic, but...goombas will still kill you! If you pick a powerup, do green. It has homing.
