Well this game was based on an old idea I had but never got around to making it. Along came a 7 game 7 days challenge from my school and I thought I'd go ahead and dig this project back up. This was number 4. I had other things to do during my break sooooo yea..

ANYWAYS...

The basic idea:
Get your opponents HP down to zero.
How?
-Knock the ball to the opposing side. The damage is dictated by the number in the center.
-Shoot lasers. Hitting the crystal will cause your opponent to lose life.
-Shooting the super charged laser (glow white when it is charged, next click fires)

Controls:
Mouse for single player. Click to shoot
wad keyboard for vs or arrows. D or Left to shoot
You can change this in freeplay.

Tips:
Your laser will lock down the opponent's paddle. This is important.
The shield can block laser shots. You will gain a bit of shielding from powerups and when you're on your home turf. *Shields strength is numerical, meaning if its higher in strength it can take more hits.
The super charge laser will break through your shield.
You can curve the ball.

-Keep an eye out for visual queues (ie: the brightness of shield for strength)
-------------------------
-------------------------
Realized there are a few too many "battle pongs" (working on another title -_-)
*Edit: added additional notes
**Edit: Slight graphics update.
-Also, space key is used for super shot for mouse, A for wasd keyboard, and RIGHT for arrows
-Oh, and constructive criticism is appreciated!

Nice

I enjoyed it. the concept was pretty original. A few more powerups couldn't hurt to add diversity

SmakDaBunny responds:

Hmm... diversity... yess....

First of all,..with apoligies to the author...

...don't listen to idiots that say stuff like stop making pong games. I have been gaming since the very first console I ever owned. Pong from Consumers in 74 or five. You did enough to make it interesting and I applaud the effort.

SmakDaBunny responds:

=)
Thanks for your support!

Pong

The basic of the game was a good idea, a new version of pong with upgrades. But pong is a way past dead game. Still it was a good attempt to bring back the dead

SmakDaBunny responds:

yeaaa =/
I'll probably turn it into its own thing soon...
:D

needs a way to change controls

the mouse control was way too slow. the paddle just couldn't keep up with my mouse
keyboard controls felt awkard
Good game, but needs a way to change the controls, and maybe make the paddle follow the mouse faster

SmakDaBunny responds:

Well the mouse is suppose to lag a bit, and being hit is suppose to slow you down.
As for the keyboard, yea I know what you mean. I'm trying to figure out a good way to implement that. The game was kinda meant for play with the mouse (keyboard can't be nearly as responsive)
