All right! It's finally done! After about a week of slaving away, my first Flash fighting game is done!

Suggestions and feedback are encouraged.
Please report any glitches you find so I can fix them.

Thanks for all the reviews everybody! I'm going to alter it based on your comments, so look forward to updates!

Enjoy!

NOTE: Sometimes the round doesn't end, thus freezing the game. I have seen this bug and am working to fix it.

"good for a first fighting game"

date: March 23, 2009

The grapics are nice, animation is smooth and flowing, and has good music. Having more characters with different skills would be a cool addition, more bad guys to pound on would be nice, also the game could use a little more flare like having a nice backround at the start menu and upgrade menu would be good idea. The fighter needs to take actual steps instead of just flying around. Other then you made a half decent fighting game

This has a lot of potential. I like how this game actually has sound, unlike a lot of submissions I've seen, and for the most part, the gameplay is engaging. However, I have a couple of key complaints.

The first is that I don't have any display telling me my stats. I'd appreciate being able to know just how much ass I can kick, and make sure that the upgrades I'm getting are actually doing anything. Another thing is that it's next to impossible to get close to an enemy without being hit yourself. You have to make it so that they walk in front of you without getting too close, but still getting close enough to get hit. Speaking of the enemies, I didn't like how I kept fighting the same guys over and over again. I want to see new enemies as early as stage 2, or at least 3 to prevent boredom from setting in.

My only other complaint is that the upgrades don't really feel like they're doing anything. After purchasing attack about 4 times, you'd think the normal foes would start going down in fewer hits, but no. Also, why does the health upgrade only give me one more point? It really doesn't add up when the enemies start doing more and more damage, combined with the fact that I'm facng more of them, combined with the fact that they're difficult to hit without being hit. I also can't avoid them because Jin apparently can't jump or block. You should ALWAYS be able to block in a fighting game.

This isn't bad, but it begs to be done better. Please keep the tips I've given to you in mind if you plan on improving it.

All you do is punch, and move around. Got bored after ~3 rounds. Make us want to keep playing your game!

Not a bad submission, I enjoyed it. A couple additions that would make it better; additional enemies! That's a no brainer and I'm sure everyone else that plays this is going to say the same thing. Different levels! Another no brainer that would certainly spice things up. And last but not least, button customization! Your control setup wasnt bad but something about it felt a bit uncomfortable. You did great with the combos and specials, and the upgrade feature was perfect. Keep up the great work!

You should add character customization and different types of weapons to use.

Also can you animate the character when he moves (like when you go left or right it shows him running)

Other than that great game!

"I like it but got screwed"

date: March 23, 2009

So it was actually pretty fun. Things I'd like to see: jumps and a run animation.

Also, there seemed to be a problem when I loaded my save file, my guy was just stuck in place...leading to a fairly quick death :(

I like it though.

but there was 2 glitches that i noticed that were a total pain in the ass, the first one was when you die and load a save file and start the game your character gets stuck and wont move, second when you use a special the number of enemies starts back to what it was at the beginning of the game. it was pretty fun and addicting, if it wasn't for the glitches I would of rated it an 8.

I found the game to be a pretty good fighter. Its an interesting mix of sprite fighting and rpg elements that most people use to keep the time playing the game. Improvements that I can think of would be perhaps increase monster variety and upgrades increased. Alt characters or costumes would be good too I think.

P.S. RAWSOME

"Nice Job, But The Game Is Boring."

date: March 23, 2009

Everything ran smoothly for me. The music was good and you made good use of fonts. However I found the game itself to be incredibly boring. Jin floating from left to right punching what look like those things from dig dug gets boring very quickly. The specials were a nice touch. I recommend giving the characters better looking combos and incorporating some kicks. Most single button beat em ups have combos like jab punch kick or whatever. Not bad for your first game though. Keep up the good work.

it was fun, but could have been better. I cant really knock the game because it kept my attention for quite some time. i really only have one question; how long is the game. I go to round 18 but couldnt even hit anyone anymore. everytime i tried to hit someone i went right through them.

this deserves front page so much more than that maple story crap, mind you the maple story crap has more moves and the ability to jump, but your game is original, and thats what counts, keep up the good work, in the future some cool things to add on would be, longer punching combos, able to jump, and maybe a nifty super power mode where you go all crazy fast and strong, kind of like super sayian, but bettar!

"addicting!"

date: March 24, 2009

i really loved this fighting game even tho it was so simple. simplicity is a great thing. very addicting.

but by level 20, it got obnoxious waiting for the points to add up. it would be great if you could just hit next and skip watching it.

its already a great game, and with improvement, i can see this ending up on the front page. perhaps adding the ability to jump. eventually enemies can fire projectiles... maybe even Jin can :p

and to think its your first fighting game... looking forward to what you make in the future!

"epic game dude"

date: March 24, 2009

his game rocks man, it still has my attention, it get increasingly difficult, which is fun, and the upgrades are good. i would suggest a ranged attack, because the enemies can attack from farther away than you can, but im already on wave 20 with epic speed and strength lol XD i kill them all in 2 hits, and can zip across the screen in 2 seconds :D

"Fun but repetative"

date: March 24, 2009

I like the game play, graphics, and controls; but the fighting does get pretty repetative - especially after you 1 hit kill them. I just slide back and forth between the screen and headbutt the people to death (speaking of which even with the 5% cost I have a net gain of special points for a successful headbutt). Also speed gets bugged, you start walking through people and it makes it awkward.

Here are my suggestions to make it better:
-Add an ending, maybe after round 20 or something; I'm on round 27 and it doesn't look like there's and end.
-Add high scores; maybe whoever beats it the fastest or uses the least fighter points or something
-Make it so more than 2 enemies come at once (I realize this would mess up your specials, but it would still be nice)
-Make there be a skip button so you don't have to wait for all your points to count after each round
-as always more characters, more enemies, more moves is always better too.

All in all a fun game though - at least for a while.
