EDIT: Thanks a bunch for the feature in the Treasure Hunt!

The idea for this movie came to me in a flash (pardon the pun), and I knew I had to make it. Don't ask me what this means. I know, but I can't really explain. I know that it's not an environmental message, though.

Also, Firth makes some pretty amazing music, as well as movies. Go check his shit out.

Plesant

Though lacking in visuals, this is a nice story.

It reminds me allot of the old children's book "The Giving Tree".
But this one has a more monotonous cycle to it.
It's that sort of "life goes on" message.

Very sad

Oh yeah, I've listened to all of Firth's music so this would sound familiar. I like how you made it look like the tree was made of blood (the red lining around the white bone) to give it a personality. I think that this is fortunate to show up in the Treasure Hunt, as it's one of Tom Fulp's favorites now! I congradulate you for making a really deep story that had such a short running time. It was emotional the whole way through and told a lot about not just the life of a tree, but our lives. May our hope and love never die.

It proves a point.

I liked it!the artwork was good, and i liked how the music went with it.it also has a good meaning to it.(if its meant to that is.)overall this was excellent, and had a creepy feel to it.

David Firthesque movie at its best

It is obvious that you have been inspired greatly, both in music, story telling and animation, by David Firth. The music, as you say, is made by the master, which makes the movie all the more enjoyable, but as with all things, the original master is always better than the ones that come after him :) It was a great movie, but I can't help but get the feeling that it would have been a 5/10 pointer if it had been David Firth doing the storytelling and animation as well. Some day you might be shuffling with David Firth over the title "worlds most artistic flash artist," but you're not there yet ;P

Peace.

idiot-monarch responds:

Yeah, Firth is definitely a huge inspiration. Obviously, the movie would be better if he had made it (I think that applies to any movie, really :P ), but being compared to him (even if he comes out on top) means a lot.

Thanks :)

Simple yet complex

I like how it isn't directly stating views on tree-cutting, but just tells it as it is in an interesting, narrative way. Nice stylized illustration, and I can see the Firth inspiration in there. Nice work

Thanks man.
