As usual, your animation is great and the gun fights are awesome but I can't help but feel you had something going for a second but then lost it.
The new characters were both really cool and I think they could have a lot more potential. The hook was awesome, and the little joke with the mask was nice too. Hank as a dead human shield, classic.
I think you kinda fucked up hank though. I really don't see why he has to be bigger to be more powerful, and the arm thing is just stupid.
I think if you made him regular size again but with some enhanced strength and a updated version of his sword would have benn fine. Just have him lose a fight in that form, retreat back to the big chamber thing and come out in whatever you come up with that isn't.. that.
All that aside, I still love your work and I'll probably watch this a few more times tonight :P
Pretty damned good.
But i have to be honest, this particular installment of Madness doesn't seem that badass to me. Maybe i just built it up in my head or expected something else, i'm not sure. Like alot of people are saying though, it does feel like it's missing something.
I do like your use of the "camera" throughout the flash though. I imagine alot of those panning movments and camera swings must've taken quite a bit of effort to make happen.
Very fluid and smooth animation. Pretty clever fight wise. The cutscenes added a more interesting edge then most boring drawn out madness flashes. but the storyline was a bit typical and predictable. also, the fact that the trucks didn't make any noises while driving bugged me and the song should have changed with the major plot changes to add a sense of urgency and action.
The ideas brought up in this part of the madness series are interesting enough, to say the least. Having previous versions of Hank walking around was certainly a new touch. What makes me happiest, however, is that the heroes are not invincible. They do get hit with bullets, weapons, etc.
Even so, there are two things that really drag this down. First, and foremost, the new look for Hank. It doesn't work. Sorry, it just doesn't. Hank works a hell of a lot better as the average-joe badass then as some freaky crab-thing. Second, the cliffhangers. I know there's only so much you can have in a flash animation, but damnit, I'm tired of the cliffhangers! I want to know what the hell's going to happen!
In any case, this was worth the wait. Very nice addition to the madness storyline. Can't wait to see the end.
