Sick and tired of lazy NG users who make un-original threads on the BBS?

Then here's the movie you should link them to! This quick, handy guide will explain everything on how to click on a bar, type in words, and click Search!

Thanks to Rise Against for the music.

"Sad, Although Needed."

date: October 27, 2009

Simple, and stupid, although I agree this is needed. So surprised by the amount of users who choose not to use the search bar, and have their topic locked or deleted within minutes because of it, then they feel the need to complain.

Decent flash, good choice of music, and since it's a helpful flash, it's a must stay.
Good idea in helping out the noobs of the site, thanks!

Cal.

No one would think that some one would make a Movie for that reason!
Well done.

"Fairly pointless...But well made."

I really can't award you much for this, because most of it was just NG screenshots. However, I like how you synced the text with the music at the start. When you zoomed in, it became a bit pixelated. You could stop this by instead of just increasing the image size, but going back into your browser and pressing Ctrl and +.

Concept/Storyline: 2/10
Well, I like how it wasn't like most tutorials where you have to click a button to move on; it was automatic. However, the subject was fairly boring. Unless you've never encountered a computer before, it is likely you will know how to use a search bar. The only problem is finding it. What is hard on the NG BBS search bar is finding the right thread, as it is a bad search engine. You could have adressed that.

Music: 6/10
Nothing special, but it was decent. Again, I like how you synced it to the flash.

Overall: 4/10
Not worth your time making it.

"Useful for the newbies"

date: June 25, 2009

It was designed very well and you chose a nice song but there's already many things dotted around NG about this already.

You could have added things like "You have to search for something more than 3 letters" or a link to a thread with a list of useful threads that don't show up in search.

It's good to see you used the NG font cos I love that, and you did some nice effects with it. Nice and short and to the point

Next time add more content, maybe a more general tutorial, you did a great job here I'm sure you can elsewhere

"Nice flash"

date: June 25, 2009

You made a nice flash here, even though you used many screenshots from NG. This can go awfully wrong, but you did a pretty good work to make this a good flash.

First of all, I liked that you used the NG font for your texts, that was nice idea. I also had no trouble reading the texts at that speed and that's saying something as I'm a pretty slow reader in english (it's a foreign language for me).

The music was nice, too. It gives the viewer something to listen to while he's learning how to use the search bar. But there where some noticeable static sounds to hear every now and then.

It's also a good thing that this flash is only 1 MB big. Other flashes with audio in it are a lot bigger most of the time because the authors are too lazy to compress the audio and/or only use parts of a song (like you did here).
