Hex Empire is a strategy game, a little similiar to Risk. It has simple rules (read in-game help) but absorbing gameplay on thousands of generated maps. I hope you will enjoy!

Nice little strategy game. I don't think it's a very accurate simulation of war, but then, neither is Risk. The only improvement I would suggest is that it would help immensely if you had some kind of indication on the map of which cities spawned new recruits. In the endgame, the biggest challenge for me was moving tanks out of my recruit cities so that new recruits could spawn, and just having the new troops blink momentarily didn't allow me to see all of the recruitment cities at any given time. It would've been helpful if the cities had been a different color or something like that.

I have seen this game on other websites, and as soon as I saw this game, I knew I had to review it.
What to say about this game...
I really enjoy how you can group up units, and how morale is a factor in this game. I also love how you can easily choose from a large selection of maps. If I had to improve it, I would make it possible to:
A) Edit and create levels of your own to make the game easier or harder for you.
B)Make the peace offers infinite. Having a one time boost for morale makes sense, but limited peace offerings does not. This could actually make players use different strategies for dealing with enemies, like making peace with two enemies and attacking the third, then breaking one alliance when you can afford to, and attacking them.
I would love to give this 5 stars, and this was my actual vote. However, since I made a suggestion it's my policy to never give the highest rating. Of course, if even one of these were fixed, I believe I could easily give a full 5 stars.

This game has me coming back to it for months. Unlike the second one which is kind of a desaster in comparison.
The graphical design is flawless, and in combination with the music really sets the mood to a 1914s feel. The cynicism in the descriptions is apt and appropiate considering the historical references and the slaughter on the battlefield.

Gamewise the mapgegnerator keeps making challeging maps so replayability is guaranteed. The AI is not stuipd, however it's the old starcraft problems in hard mode where the enemys dont become more strateic or clever - they just abnd together and pummel you when you didnt choose the advantageous starting position.

All in all one of the best games I ever came across on newgrounds. So thanks for that.

Its very good game, you do really need to think about where you commit your troops and you need to work around the maps. When I first played it I got destroyed but I soon got the hang of it.

*If your capital is captured it is all over, so look out for sneaky flakers
*You can only move five times (of different units), so you can't attack everything at once
*Lots of Enemies? hold units at choke-points and focus attacks in less defended areas
*Want easy moral, attack the weak and undefended cities!
*Men + Moral = Total Strength
*Expand! land = men, Cities = Lots of men
*You don't need to kill all the enemies, I like sneaked a single unit to destroy capitals (if its strong enough) , when captured ALL of the enemies Die! WHA HA HA HA!
*And finally have fun, Happy Hunting peps!
