Hey Newgrounds! This is my first flash game and first submission here - it's been on Kongregate for the last week.
Don't Look Back is a game about fantasy. Just to warn you, it can be quite tricky in places... I hope you enjoy it!
Awesome, great fun
I can't pass the part where there is a big ledge is to the right and 3 dissapearing blocks and a row of crumbling ledges, can you help? Other then that you should make a second one, I love the style of it. blocky, and old fashion. Great game.
If it's the place I'm thinking of, it's just a timing thing - the easiest way to do it is just to jump on the first crumbling block, then wait till it's almost gone before you jump on the second.
This game is amazing!
I can't say enough to express how perfect that game was. Really, I wrote alot of stuff, then deleted it because it was useless. To sum up - the style, the atmosphere, the ideas, the bosses, the gameplay, the sounds.... everything was great. If there was wish-something-good-for-NG day, I'd wish more games from you. Seriously. It got me back in the DOS times, but it wasn't simply just that. I LOVED the game, continue the great work please.
Great game, especially for a first
This was fun to play throughout the whole game.
Gameplay wise the challenges in each area were very cleverly done. They properly introduced a new obstacle, then built up on each ones characteristics to create more complicate challenges. The more difficult areas were a little tricky but they never felt overwhelming. Graphics reminded my of an old Atari games. But it worked and each creature and object had their own look. The graphics along with the sound used made for a very atmospheric setting. Controls were solid and the characters movement felt right.
Just the right length and completely enjoyable.
I loved the Orpheus and Euridice imagery, I'd never had thought to try and implement it into a game. The simple pixel art was used as well as I could have thought, it felt genuinely atmospheric.
Really moving work
A little more polish and complexity, and you could be making games as emotionally interesting as Jason Rohrer, the maker of games like gravitation and passage. You had a great idea here, and I loved how you executed it. Great game.
