Catch all the new shapes, patterns, motions and songs in Music Catch 2! The task is simple...the more shapes you collect, the more points you get. Yellow shapes still multiply your points, but what does the pulsing color shape do? Unlock new shapes, patterns and even the ability to play your own music as you go further and further into the musical world of Music Catch!

UPDATE: Thank you everyone for all of your great feedback! Here is some more info based on comments thus far.

*** Once you unlock the "MP3 from URL" feature, you can use any public URL that returns an MP3. Since the file has to be public, music on your own computer will not work. Also, HTML pages and YouTube videos will not work because they do not return an MP3 file. Most URL's will actually end in .mp3, but as long as the URL returns the MP3 data, any URL should work. If a valid MP3 file fails the first time, trying again may fix the problem.

*** For example, to play audio from Newgrounds Audio Portal, you just need to replace the XXXXXX in the following URL with the Newgrounds ID of the song you want: www.newgrounds.com/audio/
download/XXXXXX

*** The music in the game is by Isaac Shepard and is from his album "Deep Joy".

*** NEW iPhone Version: Music Catch is now available for your iPhone. Check it out! /www.musiccatchgame.com

Truly Fantastic

I remember the first Music Catch and how I loved it a lot. Seeing a sequel with 10 times as much content and endless replayability just makes me enjoy it even more. What we have here is a beautifully made game with a simple but rewarding unlockables system. The pre-loaded music selections are beautiful to listen to and fit the quiet theme of the game and one you've played through them a few times, the mp3 from URL option becomes available, opening endless doors in terms of music choices. Mix in a lot of little variations you can tweak for each playthrough and you've got a game that is just great to play time and again.

I have a few suggestions for you if you're planning a Music Catch 3. The biggest one would be the ability to load listen either straight from the Audio Portal, or even better, straight from your computer. I don't know how feasible the latter would be but it would be a very welcome addition. Finding exact mp3 links isn't always easy to do. As for the Audio Portal, I know it's possible, as I have seen it done in a few other submissions, so that would be something I suggest you look into.

More of a minor suggestion would be a few more pre-loaded tracks, a couple more variation options, nothing else really. The game did everything right in my opinion, from looking great, to playing well, to sounding beautiful, to drawing you in and making you want to play over and over.

One technical question I have, what determined the yellow/red/purple notes appearances? I'm asking because in some songs that I linked to, sometimes red notes were more prevalent, sometimes yellows were everywhere, purples were few and far. I never saw more than one yellow madness note, so that's making me wonder if the colored notes are set on a randomizer or determined through the instruments in the song itself. Just something I was wondering about as I played.

I'm really hoping that you make a Music Catch 3 someday. This series is just so much fun to play and is executed so well. 5 Stars, 10/10. Bravo!
