I love how the guy in question doesn't have a say in this. XD
really fun!!! love the characters and the gameplay is pretty good also~ wish I could find more games like this. this was part of my childhood btw, thank you for the good times :)
Interesting.
This game looks like it came right out of a widget series manga. Not that that's a bad thing, of course; in fact, it's anything but.
Am I the only person there who defeated all 4 girls on the first try? Granted, I barely beat the first girl, but only because I was still getting used to the mechanics. The 4th was good though, she just wouldn't go down easily. I could see a distinct difficulty spike from the penultimate opponent to the ultimate opponent as compared to the other difficulty spikes; good job there. Still, there's a lot of room for improvement here, as it lacks many of the game mechanics this kind of game usually has.
Having just 4 opponents to play, plus the distinct lack of power-ups (like wildcards, or gems created from a 5 in a row that when used in a 3-in-a-row would destroy one whole line of stuff, with gems created from a 4 in a row having a similar but weaker effect) that could affect you or your opponent, makes this game kind of dull. (On that note, does making combos actually give multiplier effects? Because I noticed nothing of the sort.)
In addition, the lack of a time limit killed off the thrill of the game altogether. There should have been a mechanic where if you exceed a time limit you forfeit your turn or something. Or have your HP decrease the more time you take to make a move.
Also, there should be a few difficulty modes for this kind of game. Such as the opponents getting harder/easier to beat, or you starting second instead of first. Other modes like Survival Mode, Zen Mode and 2 player mode can also be considered.
Still, this is a very interesting concept, and it does have much potential that can be tapped on. Hence, a 3.5/5 for me.
