--Update--
Tweaked some physics and fixed some glitches. It's worth noting that I will not make an arrow key configuration, as there is a ghosting issue when the player uses 3 buttons to escape from water with the arrow keys.

About 30+ minutes of gameplay, inspired by the 1985 game (all hand drawn). Journey through 12 levels in 3 worlds to face off against the greatest evil the Mushroom Kingdom has ever known. Wield the might of the Super Hammer and fasten the buckles of your Worksuit to vanquish the evil Koopa King!

This took about 6 months to make... granted, it's been my testing grounds for learning Action Script. I originally got flash because I wanted to make my own Mario game... since the side scrolling adventures of the 2D era have nearly been abandoned. Hopefully, folks can enjoy some of the frustrations of classic gaming. The game is saved every time a world is completed.

*PM me any game altering glitches if they are found.

Thanks for playing!

is there a way to be luigi when you get to luigis house

November 22, 2009

Author's Response:

No, though it would have been pretty cool to have Luigi included.

A Mario "model" uses a total of 21 seperate animations. There are a total of 10 models for Mario; 1 model for every possible power-up combination he can have (ex: Worksuit-Little Mario, Hammer-NoWorksuit-Super Mario, etc).

Duplicating, recoloring and adding features to make a unique model was a lot of (tedious) work. Doubling the amount of models/animations for a Luigi would have been overkill to do properly within the timeframe I had set for myself. Had I went with a power-up system that didn't have combinations (and multiplying the number of models needed), it would have been easier to include a Luigi. I decided an easter egg house would suffice for my first stab at action script.

I've got a lineup of original games to make, currently. But I would like to take a stab at another Mario game, eventually, and include a playable Luigi.

Happy gaming!

It is a good game but the keys you have to use are a little hard if you look at other games.

There are a couple things that could use some work, but it's overall great.
