Seeing as how Valentine's Day is this Saturday, I figured I'd make another movie in Windows Movie Maker and throw it into FLASH and make it a romantic music video. FYI, I have tried to start using sprites, but I just can't seem to get the Onion Skin thing right. Every time I onion skinned my sprites, they wouldn't be animated. Am I missing something? Oh well, at least I am making some progress as opposed to none at all, right?

I'm gonna practice some more with Pre-Loaders and sprites when I have more time, please don't be too hard on me.

The song is called "Without You" and it's done by Motley Crue.

Here it is in its entirety: tch?v=74ijJ04nJc4

***UPDATE (2/16/09): I was able to remove like 5000 frames or so and the total running time is 116.3 seconds/almost 2 whole minutes!!

****UPDATE (7/2/09): 1000 VIEWS!!! THANK YOU NG!! :)

***EDIT: For some ungodly reason, every time I try to put the pre-loader BACK IN, it won't fucking work like it's supposed to. I'm still gonna practice though. >_>

I can't hate it

I would normally say this took little effor to make, but then again, I made a submission just like it. Only this one was even worse as it was too small. I have no clue how to make submissions using just Windows Movie Maker. I am at least glad you had much better resolution. I would have liked it a lot more if you showed more of Alexis, you know, her large breasts...but whatever. You are an influence and tribute to people like me who made one pathetic flash and was this made with Flash Player?

SilentCobra responds:

It was not made with Flash Player. I made it in Windows Movie Maker and threw it into flash. Looks like I'm not the only one who has a thing for Alexis either. :) You might also like"Yu-Gi-Oh! GX" fanfic. Which can be found here: 140646

Thanks for the kind words Eric. ^_^

Pretty good anyways

I didn't see any storyline here anyways, seems to flow in with your fanfic that you have posted in your blogs as well. The pictures moved entirely slow but I can understand why you would do it if your syncing it with the changing chords of the song which was pretty cool I guess.

I understand the choice of song but who was she missing the whole time? That's what really seemed to be missing, she wants someone to love her but we have no idea who she wants it to be so it would be nice if you decided to clear that up for all of us who view this as well.

The screen was way to freakin huge, could have shrunk it down so that there would be no gray on the sides since that got really annoying really fast to me and the screen was really small, might want to have used a different rock love song so that it wouldn't be such a huge file as well.

Still very nice effort on your part anyways.

SilentCobra responds:

Well I know this song is an excellent ballad and it comes from the heart. Though I don't know the story behind it like "Kickstart My Heart" was inspired by Nikki Sixx's near death experience via a heroin OD. Yes I know the screen is size is messed up, but the person she's missing is irrelevant. I submitted this because it was 2 days before Valentine's Day and if she were real, well, think about that for a few minuted. Thanks for the review.

Could use some work.

I was somewhat scared when I saw the newspaper effect at the beginning because I realized this was done in Windows Movie Maker. This was a simple slideshow at best, just pictures to the tune of a song. Not that impressive, but I had to watch it on YouTube because I know what a hassle it is to convert video files into flash. Decent tribute to say the least.

I gave you a couple points because you did have a romantic mood established and you included a good Motley Crue song. I'm not against video files being on this site, but it just seems to defeat the purpose of learning flash. Just so you know, I feel your pain on the preloaders, it took me so long to get the hang of it. Anyway, keep up the good work!

SilentCobra responds:

Thanks man. Hey, it was 2 days before Valentine's Day after all. So i figured, why the hell not, and just throw it up on NG. Also, trying to get the transitions to sync up with the power chords was a bitch. That's really what I was trying to do. Overall, thanks for the tips.

It was OK. I'm not that into just slide shows but I will still rate.

Good points:-
Great song
What pictures I saw were pretty good.

Bad points:-
The screen was too small
The pictures moved too slowly.

Overall:- I am giving you 7/10 stars and I am voting 3.

SilentCobra responds:

Well, the reason the pictures moved slow is because I was trying to time the transitions to the power chords of the song, it was really difficult for me to do so. I think I was able to get one or two to sync up pretty well. I also couldn't recall the size for my other one, so I just left the screen size as is. Oh well, thanks for the 3/5 and 7/10. ^_^

you just died of FAILING too much, lmfao. ^_^

Without yoooouuuu

As it stands the slideshow was not that bad, going by slideshow standards. The images fit the subject of Valentine's Day fairly well. *cough* Can't wait until you get the preloader in *Sneeze*
So all in all, smoother transitions between shots and a gentler ending (not the newspaper smacking me in the face again) and this would be top-notch perfect in my ever-so-humble opinion.

SilentCobra responds:

Yea, I don't know why, but somehow I thought the newspaper seemed to fit well for Valentine's Day, lmao. I was also trying to get the transitions synced up with the power chords of the song, hence why there aren't as many pics as my first FLASH. It's extremely difficult to sync the transitions to the power chords, grr. >_> Oh well, thanks again Krev, you're good people.
