You can't remember the last time you left your room. When you receive a barcode reader in the mail, you discover that the world around you is not what it seems, and must escape the bars of black and white.

"Bars of Black and White" is a game in the room-escape tradition with hand-drawn line art graphics and novel barcode-scanning action. Is the world insane, or is it you?

Very simplistic of a Point 'n click adventure, but not a bad one.

The messages contained in the game are somewhat commonplace, though, so the attempt to be deep didn't work that well.

Impeccable! 4 stars! I love this game because when a person is in the world where everything is black and white. I rated 4 stars because, Well number one the barcodes are sort of... Mean. Or "futuristic" But actually I beat the game in: 399.53 seconds.

Interesting game. The graphic create a perfectly misterious atmosphere, the bars on the walls say weird things, the player become very curious... then the game ends. Nothing have been explained. I understand that you want to leave the player without any answer, but this game has also no meaning. It's too "general", there are lots of sci-fi stories like this where a person lives in a fake world.
