Good approach.

You really tried to make your game unique despite it is another variation of the oldest video game. I appreciate that and also liked the style of your menu though it was a bit overloaded. The problem here is that the actual game feels horrible because of the laggy animation. The board is incredibly slippy, as others mentioned before, and the ball doesn't move fluidly. You should try to improve that as the game is not much fun in its current state.

you took the time....

to learn flash and actionscript well enough to create a nice looking game.. why not invest one additional hour or so into learning how to add a preloader so we don't sit in front of that stupid blank screen waiting to see if this actually works or is frozen or what...

I did expect this to be more like a faux-tennis game, but I do enjoy innovations of Pong
- Giving each character differences was a nice touch. It made the game a bit less repetitive
- Introducing an HP system and a Special Move system
- Music was annoying
- The paddle felt slippery, like it was Ice pong :P
- Hit detection. That was a biggie. I saw it go through the corner of my paddle.

Nevertheless, this is a good game for those who like Pong, and for people like me, it's something fun to play. 9/10, 4/5

Epic Serve?

A rather fun game, never expected it to be Pong-like though. The art is very stylistic, which is great. The core mechanics are a bit funky at first, and the paddle are kinda hard to control. But once I played for a bit I got the hang of it.
Like the others said, the power ups are a bit weird, and are more just a distraction, which really wouldn't affect the Computer player. Other than that, its a really fun game! 8/10 and a 4/5! :D
