A game in which you are your own worst enemy. Promnesiac is Déjà Vu squared.

Déjà Vu, the feeling of having seen or done something before. That is what this game is about, every 3 seconds a copy of yourself appears on screen and starts mimicking your past actions. Promnesiac is mouse-based, no keyboard input is required. The objective is to avoid hitting past generations of yourself. You earn points by moving further and more wildly across the screen, note though that every copy also earns points. Scoring a lot of points early on is a good idea as every time a new iteration starts you will get these points again. That is all there is to it. Go ahead, give it a try!

Features a leaderboard by MochiMedia.

Any comments or suggestions for future versions are greatly appreciated.

-EDIT- If you liked this game please recommend it for the Puzzle Games collection(recommending is done on the left side of the screen) to ensure it gets into the right category. I'd rather have it in a dexterity collection but that doesn't seem to exist so this'll have to do. Thanks!

"Couple improvements would be good"

I like the game idea. However you should make a replay button to see what moves you last did. To clean it up a bit you should make transitions and not make the score numbers so big. To make it even better, create levels and obstacles.

"Clever game"

date: April 19, 2009

Although once you get used to it, it becomes a little boring. My strategy was moving the mouse in a rectangle around the screen, but because I had Flash open (Or because FPS is not high enough?) it kept lagging and I kept hitting myself. Respect for attaining a score of 4.21, quite amazing for such a simple game. I'll give it a 3 though.. :P Sorry...

Idea for part 2 would be backward time travel instead of a deja vu thing. You still have to avoid "hitting"... and/or make it more interesting, being seen by yourself (make it very narrow vision). This time it could be not dots, but people, or some other strange creatures. The background, instead of being an abstract gfx, could be a bird-sight view of a futuristic city, the buildings slowly become less and less complex, become uglier, fade away, trees appear by the millions, dinosaurs, etc. Or it could be you falling towards the center of a black hole (lol).

Anyway, just some ideas.

Great and interesting ideas, I wish I were a little better at the graphic side of things, perhaps I'll hire someone to do them for my next game. :) Thanks.

"More like deja vu to the power of pi."

It's interesting, original, and well made, but it holds precious little replay value, unless your really edging to get a better score. Still, I give you 4 for everything else.

"Awesome!"

You are a very clever chappie to make this great game. Very inspiring work and I really love the way the music pans all around my 7.1 surround system, It has a simple relaxing sound but is infact very complicated.

Awesome! I'm hooked! Very clever concept, and nice implementation.

Also, the background image is very cool

Thanks, I'll make sure to check your games out as well when I get the time. The implementation could probably be improved upon a bit but I'm glad you liked it!
