great game but...
i really liked this game, but the biggest problem for me was the lack of explanation of how the armor works. it took me about 5 failed attempts to realise that The Lord of Hell actually GAINS health when attacked from a distance (ie ranged attacks).
also, as others mentioned, the problem of having to re-buy the upgrades every time. which was kinda annoying, but also somewhat useful, as they gave you extra mana, and could save you having to do the mana upgrade to reach 9999 mana, when you had something like 9700 mana.
overall, much better than the 1st one, and in my opinion, much better than the 3rd. main reasons are that the graphics in this one are the best of the whole series, and the game-play is generally more enjoyable.
tips for people playing:
the AI generally advances at the same pace as you, only has much more mana to spend, so if you send out a wizard, then expect the AI to send out the equivilent within a minute or so, so i would recommend that you upgrade your mana and send out a whole lot, instead of just leveling as fast as you can, and sending out one. Also, the more units you have on the battlefield when the enemy castle (or yours) is destroyed, the more battle experience you get, another reason to send your troops in groups.
mana upgrades also upgrade the regen speed of the mana, so if you have spare mana, dont waste it on extra units, save up for the mana upgrade.
elves have the best archers, humans have the best strong melee (non-titan) unit and orcs have the best wizard unit, as it targets and area.
try to upgrade your arrow tower as early as possible: 2 arrows (no upgrade) is enough to hold off the enemy indefinately for the 1st 3 or 4 levels, 3 arrows (1st upgrade) is enough for the next 3 levels, 4 arrows (2nd upgrade) is enough for the next 2, 6 arrows and an elemental arrow (4th upgrade) is enough for the next 3, 8 arrows and 2 elemental arrows + the arrow volley power (5th and final upgrade) is enough for all but the boss levels.
upgrading the arrow tower, will also give you the catapult, trebuchet and cannon units, which arent that great, but are good as fodder for enemy units to attack (especially the cannon, which has 1500 health, and does 200 damage).
in all seriousness you can beat the whole game using only the human race, but, in saying that, play with the other races as well, as it adds another dimension to the game-play, and you can try out different strategies.
as for which is the best overall, it is safe to say that it is elves, especially in terms of bosses, as the elven melee is the 2nd best and 2st fastest, while the ranged units freeze the non-boss units.
Orcs however, are the best against regular non-boss AI, this is due to their wizard (totem) unit, which can destroy castles even if there are units infront of it, also, their attack is an area affect, which throws the enemy units into the air, so if you have about 10-15 totems within range of the castle, and they dont all attack at once, it will be virtually impossible for the AI to get any units out to attack you.
Well thats all from me, i hope this was informative to the people who read it. I would love it if there was some kind of player v player feature, that would make this game a very obvious 10/10. if i have missed something, or made some mistakes in my judgement of the strengths and weaknesses of the game, please dont hesitate to inform me about them.
One of the best games ever. Seriously though I wasn't expecting a Giant Toad to have 350,000 health.. It took about 3 Arch Angels,5 super arrow specials, a few holy swords, and 70 dead paladins.
I like how Epic war 2 has a storyline and the first one didnt. I didnt like how when you upgrade you still have to use your mana to get the upgrade in each battle.
my namy is matheus
I played this and it became one of my favorite games, it can be easy once you get
some upgrades and send in correct units to win...
