Hey folks,

Welcome to Rhapsody of Ruin, a movie based on the two main characters of CastleVania SOTN (PSX Version) in a semi-canonical story, mostly focusing on an over elaborate sprite fight as opposed to actual story telling.

I hope fans of the game enjoy this flash - It's definitely not perfect but I'm still very proud.

Thank you to any and all people who have lent this movie support over the years, it did much better than I could ever have dreamed of - Also thanks to any other people passing by who lend comments & reviews.

Really good job

It is hard to compete with sprites used in flashes like VG Exiles, SF vs MK, Super Mario Bros Z, and sprite battles. The castlevania sprites to this date are still hard to work with for epic battles. However, I found that your movie was very enjoyable and really expanded from the simple punch kick punch kick. The movie is quick but it is not anything to score low on. The quality and care is there, and I enjoyed it. The fans of the Castlevania series should definitely check this out. Everyone else, it is worth the time to watch it, though the battle might not hold as much punch as fans who know the history will have.

Nice review, good to see people take note of the fact that CV Sprites aren't exactly all that versatile unlike the Capcom sprites (SFvMK/Exiles etc) where characters have a lot of moveset animations. I just wanted to work with the little I had and try to expand on it without tarring the main-plot or the characters too much - Sure, some of the moves are OTT but sadly that's how it had to be to make Alucard/Richter 'do something different' and be noticeable.

I'm still, to this day, shocked at how well recieved this movie has been - I was expecting die-hard fans or just passers by to pretty much hate on this project when we have superior videos like SFvMK 3 by (the inspiration to this movie) Proxicide and the very solid VG Exiles.

Makes me very proud and grateful and I'm glad people haven't been too dissapointed by this.

Amazing stuff!

I saw "Castlevania SOTN vs RoR" and thought what does "RoR" mean? Out of curiosity, I watched and soon realized that this was in fact the absolute best Castlevania flash movie I have ever seen. The animation was flawless, the sound effects were completely on cue, and the ending left me wanting more. And "The End?" makes me wonder this: are you going to add to the end?
This was amazing, and I must say, keep up the good work!

Glad the name sucked you in ^^ I'm grateful for your positive comments considering this is my first ever full flash movie and as said to below person, it's even better to know that the game-fans have been mostly approving of the movie - It'd have been very easy to ruin a CV:SotN flash so I'm happy it didn't dissapoint.

I'm not sure if I'll add to it as I only wanted to achieve one thing from this movie and that was to actually maintain patience and complete one (Made many incomplete movies but never a full feature) so this is my little baby. Sadly since I've finally realised I can indeed make Flash Movies, I lost the drive for it.

Let's just say that I like it being open ended and letting people make up their own mind rather than a definate ending so if I don't get to add a sequel then at least it'll keep people thinking.
