This submission was BLAMMED by our users.
Here is its eulogy, a collection of the kind words written about it while still among the living. They shall live on forever in its place.
12/11/08 – 09/12/09
This is my first real Flash game.
Please comment with suggestions of stuff I should add, or change.
However, please don't comment about the graphics; I already know they're not that great.
If you have any suggestions, just PM me.
Hope you like it!

UPDATE 12/12/08: I made more than one kind of jelly, and they sell for different prices at the Jelly Shop. Also, I fixed some bugs in the furniture and changed the whole "Class-Up" thing to an Exp. system instead of a Battle Count system.
UPDATE 12/13/08: I changed the Weapons Shop into a Trinket Shop. I also added another vendor to the Town Park.
UPDATE 12/17/08: Fixed a couple bugs and changed the Shooter Minigame.
UPDATE 03/20/09: Added a right click menu and increased the Tapas received for selling Jellies.
Basic but good. I enjoyed playing this. Good job.
it was pretty good, at first since i saw the stickman i though here goes another noob game, but it was great. you did great, although i didnt get to play most of it i saved but ill be sure to come back and finish it. i also love all the little minigames on it those rock nice job dude
This game is actually pretty f'ing cool, when you get past the simplistic visuals. It was kind of frustrating when I died, but now that I think of it I probably would have gone on playing for way too long otherwise. Good work.
I really liked it xD Well, I actually enjoy every RPG game. Ok now to criticism... Despite the simple drawings, your programming skills are awesome, try making a collab with a friend or a random dude in NG. Try putting limits on the window area or at least put a background image thats not Windows default images xD. Hope to see more games!
5/5
10/10
But it could be better. I was playing for a while and I didn't save, adn then I died and had to restart. That was kind of a downer.
Overall, I did enjoy it, and I hope to see some more.
Keep up the good work.
I don't like RPGs that much, but I liked this one. You found my weak point(jellies).
I'm giving you a halfway ownage. 8/10, 4/5.
I started playing and at first I wanted to just quit, but I soldiered on and got to about level 7 before I decided to stop. The money-earning mini games were I nice touch, and although the graphics of the game were sub-par I found some of the animations entertaining and detailed (compared to the rest of the game). A longer introduction was needed, I though, because at first I had no idea what to do. Somewhat addicting, but I would suggest you take it back, work on character animation and environments, and try and add more to make the game longer.
The game is really simple, not much to expect, but is very complex... many menus, many options, many areas and mini games....
Congratulations man... you are a awesome AS programmer... you need to form a group with someone can offers a good artwork... you can make a real impressive game.
Good luck.
5/5 - 8/10
For this being your first real attempt at a flash game its a really good start. As for suggestions, I would say just search the net for different graphical and animation techniques. You seem to have a lot of potential. Keep up the good work.
I have to confess. I took on the prejudice any normal blammer of flash would take. First flash? Unknown artist? Strange concept? It must be terrible.
And the great thing is, you shut me up, and blew me away with one of the best flash I've seen from new artists still in the stage of learning.
Let's begin with the graphics. Yes, I know you said not to talk about them, but I will. They were actually pretty decent. The stick men were decent. Smooth lines, no inconsistencies or gaps in them, perfectly acceptable in this game. The attack animations, I thought would be a flop. They were pretty awesome. The inferno attack was one that stuck out the most. I've seen many fire-animating styles, and this one was one of my favorites.
The gameplay itself is simple, but definitely addictive. I seem to never get sick of seeing that stick figure stomp on jelly. The level system also works great, too. Gaining new strength, then beating up jelly, however, does get repetitive.
The music choices where definitely great choices, the battle music, the park music, they all fit together pretty well.
What impressed me the most, seeing that you are a new artist, is that you TOOK THE TIME to make a SMOOTH, CONSISTENT INTERFACE. I can't begin to tell you how many amateurs make games with buttons in the shape of mutated quadrilaterals, that have poorly arranged text smack dab in the top right corner of it. The battle interface and the main menu were all wonderfully organized.
The maps were pretty well organized too, but the field could use a bit more work. I loved how you threw in little vendors and a gambling center. Very clever, these keep the game interesting! I found the girl interesting, and how you could raise a "relationship level", which I'm not fully done with yet. :P
There are a few things I would suggest:
1. Improve the physical attack animations. They are a bit roughly animated, as the motions are really spastic, and the punches and kicks don't seem to connect with the enemy.
2. Make some variety with the enemies! Fighting cherry gelatin gets boring! Why not make it so that you could fight orange jelly, and lime jelly, with have their own form of fighting and prices for sale at the jelly store? Also, try and create a better attack animation of the jelly attacking. Shifting it a few pixels towards the characters with a smack noise is a bit vapid.
3. Spruce up some miscellaneous aspects of the game! Take the lightening, for example. When using the lightening attack, how about darkening the background to enhance the effect? Or maybe add some color to that menu? Or perhaps draw the weapons you get onto the character?
4. A plot would be nice. Randomly fighting jelly is fun, but pointless. A plot would tie up the reason behind fighting them.
5. The field should facilitate a deeper level of adventure. Make a forest! A cave! A jelly castle! Anything is possible, and it only makes the game even more enjoyable.
Overall, the music choices were good, the animation, though sometimes a bit rough, utilizes some pretty good magic attack effects, and the gameplay is enjoyable. I am extremely impressed with your first flash and hope to see more great flash from you! (Maybe even a Jelly Hunt Deluxe, that would be sweet.)
Yes, this caught me off guard. I was looking for a quick blam and thought I would just play for a little bit and ended up enjoying myself more than I thought I would. In fact It reminded me of a pro game. Every bit as smooth. Same concept.
The-One-Banana seems to have summed up everything I was going to point out about this game, as well as the fact that, despite the graphics, the playability of the game is definitely there, and that's whats important. I'd like to see what you come up with on this one, and would also like to offer a hand, if you'd like. I can design graphics pretty well, but I don't do flash at all. So, if you want some help with your graphics, shoot me a sitemail and I'll try to help you out. Keep it up, you just might have a future in this flash thing :).
An RPG type game about Jelly?
WHERE DID THAT COME FROM AND WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF IT???????????!!!!!!!!!!
Great addictive game! But I have not yet married to the girl in the game... =(
How much charm do I need for this?
For those who are confused as to the jelly theme, check out Lufia II. Pretty sure that's where he got it.
Other than that, this was a pretty good representation of the flash rpg genre, although pretty simple. Definitely a good start - it felt quite balanced, although a bit slow. The main thing you need to improve on is motivation to continue playing - leveling up in itself is not enough, since the jellies just level up with you. You need new attacks, skills, items, and animations to really keep a player interested. Finally, a batle-number based leveling system is not that great - you need to create some benefit for fighting higher level jellies rather than lower level ones.
Very good start, though.
There's a pair of things that need a little tweaking, but this came out great. The first thing was the shooting game. Every so often, I would shoot straight through an enemy, and it didn't die, but if I shot the empty space next to it, it would. The other was buying furnature for the house. My house came with a bed and rugs already in it, so I didn't need to buy them.
As for graphics, I wouldn't worry about them. Several high rated games on this site are no more than black lines on a white background.
Great dude...just to say that if this is ur first flash game u made an awesome job
And Btw Thanks for using my song on your game :)
-Keep The good Work
This is a great first flash. Got me playing for like half an hour lol. Kinda bored. You did well. You should definitely improve this, because this has potential, i know it's not original but its a good stepping stone. Got to like class 8 and accidentally died XD O well. Good work. Keep it up!
