Oh this brings me back.
If you struggle to get farewell west ending, make sure you get 100% oil addiction and don't build all wells. Then maintain economic recession long enough by keeping oil demand just above oil supply by gradually building new wells. I kept oil demand above supply by 100 barrels a day and it worked. If demand is higher and exceeds supply by a huge margin you will get M.A.D. ending.
