if i didnt know any better, i would say that there ARE no buttons. I wasted 4 minutes of life trying to find it only to come to the facts that there is no button.
I like the cat picture though
If the base product is flawed (a pure luck game), adding a bunch of thrills isn't going to help. You got one game into the portal, which then took a strong hit downward.
It would be best to make a new and fun game (think about what a NGer would want to play) rather than just submitting new verisons of the old not so liked game
Why the heck is it just a picture of a cat?
that was way's too hard -.-
Not even sure if there IS a button.
But I liked the cat picture, though.
shit basically, i won.
(with the help of my tab key)
but apart from that the game is stupid, insanely hard and crappy animations.
Why? Why look for buttons?
This is lame. To top it off, you make the buttons so small noone can even see them.
:( Maybe make the buttons visable next time.
Seriously - the buttons were exceedingly tiny, and some of them stuck out like sore thumbs. To me, anyway, but I've always homed in on errors in visuals.
The music starts out good, and then BOOM loud, that sucked. Amusing choice in pictured, at least, I gave you a point for that.
One more thing - disable the use of the Tab key. I know the pansies that complain it's too hard will throw a shitfit, but it seriously destroys the purpose of the game.
1/10 1/5 - Reason for is: this isn't a "find the button" game, this is a "Press TAB" game, and, like the previous review stated, that should be disabled. Now, with that disabled, a pixel on a picture does not make a 'Find the Button' game. Making the button integrate into the actual pic make a good 'Find the Button' game, the problem is you're:
A. Not integrating buttons into the picture, just making 1 pixel a slightly different shade than those around it, which usually just looks like lighting or, even worse, the result of compression on the picture
B. Not using pictures that have many noticeable elements that could be the button.
Sorry, but it's not creative to pick a bunch of random pictures off the internet, then spit on your monitor and decide whatever pixel it lands on is the button.
its good and all
but the pictures are all lolcats and on top of that, many of the buttons are 2 pixels in size.
for the gumdrop level it would be better to have the person place a quarter in the slot first
and the.. thermometer (?) level was.. well. odd. i was just clicking random buttons and watching the colored splotches move around.
improve the artwork for that..
if you make another one try using better pictures, hiding the buttons more effectively (meaning you dont put a black button in a large shadow and that you dont put a green button in a blue area), and also try keeping them at least 4 pixels large.
that almost inspires me to start work on my game...
and i am giving you a 3/10 because im not thick. hehe.
oh yeah the most important thing, disabling the cheats. place this code on the first frame of your submissions.
"var myMenu.....=myMenu;" is for diabling the right click cheat and "_focusrect" is for disabling the tab cheat
var myMenu=new ContextMenu();
myMenu.hideBuiltInItems();
_root.menu=myMenu;
_focusrect=false;
Firstly, all the images were shitty lolcat and dog images that were not funny at all, for a game like this scenery would be your best bet as a background, not a cat or dog. The buttons themself were little more than small splodges placed in random directions, many of them were just low quality GIF images scaled down to such a miniature size that they looked plain terrible. The levels were so easy to cheat that I could've played through the entire game in several seconds, disable the tab cheat (tabChildren = false) and the right click menu (Stage.showMenu=false) then update the file (through the edit screen). Another major fault is that when you tried to include interactivity you did not add enough animation for it to work, and all of the interactive levels were unoriginal ideas that were just recycled from ButtonHunt, then stripped of their feel then dumped here. The music for the preloader was extremely loud, and seeing as it took longer to load than the rest of the flash, meaning that it only loaded when the rest of the flash had loading, so you only saw the preloader after it had loaded.
Your reply to The0123 was quite pathetic, the fact that he hasn't submitted any flashes doesn't make your flash any better. Calling people thick for the fact that they couldn't find an obscure image in a low quality flash is pointless, and does absolutely nothing in your favour apart from make several people who are scared of being called thick by a five year old add another point onto their review, meaning that their review score doesn't reflect what they thought of the submission. Try again when you've learned a few more key flash skills, hopefully that will turn out better. Hang in there, and keep striving to improve. Thank you, Mike.
