STATS WORKS with the level up system!
The first guy is an AI test and he is powerful because he was suppossed to show up later in the game, anyway you can raise your defense and attack with the LEVEL UP button. Try all the weapons, some of them have special abilities.
Arrows- Jump and movement (you can run by pressing twice in the same direction)
Space- Attack (6 different weapons available, some weapons have a different attack with the key hold)
Shift- Sub weapon (4 different weapons available, with their crashes)
Control- Item Crash (needs at least 80 hearts in some cases)
So I was digging into my old archives and found this year old engine of a castlevania game I wanted to make but it was far too ambitious for a first try (I wanted a full fledged castlevania game with 10 levels).
I wanted to mix the RPG elements (stats and weapons) with classic castlevania sidescroller progression and tight controls. The engine was almost completed but the level design and enemy AI was well beyond my capacity (man hours and motivation) so I never ironed out all the bugs in the engine.
I uploaded only to show the engine and I believe its a good castlevania engine after all I have seen worst full games over here and some really lame castlevania games.
I can let the source code to anyone who wants it (it´s a bit messy). Maybe some time in the future I will finish it and make a battle arena only type.
