EDIT: DAILY 4TH!?!?!?! I LOVE YOU NEWGROUNDS :3 Tutorial collection too! Thanks Tom :D!
Wow. This took a while. You'll see what you mean when you see how much detail i've put into this and how many frames. My proudest work to date. This covers:

Movement
Gravity
Floors
Doors
Walls
Enemy AI
Attacks
Health And Items/Powerups.

Sorry about being weak in enemy AI, i'm not very smart in it :P. Right click for options, and enjoy - I put a lot of work into this :)

EDIT: Added Flash API - be sure to click the ad for me ;D. I like moneh :D.

EDIT 2: I flicked through a few reviews, some recent concerning the music. There is a right click menu with options to turn the music off, to let you know ;).

TO NEW USERS

While this tutorial is good it will result in a unknown command error. This is because the syntax is written in actionscript 2.0 and the newer versions of adobe CS default to actionscript 3.0. To fix this you can one of two things; the first would be to go to file>publish settings> then click the drop down that says "actionscript 3.0" and change it to actionscript 2.0 OR you could just look up a newer tutorial specifically for 3.0. I would recommend learning 3.0 as it seems to be what most employers are using now and also seems to be a little faster.

Sound effects?

Your tutorial is REALLY helpful! Thanks a lot for making it!
One question: "How do I add sound effects to my game?"
I know how to make background music, but sound effects like jumping and shooting... I'm lost! Please help!
