(Remove that space in the url, not sure why it's there)

1. There is almost no luck involved with Talesworth. Opponents use a strategy to fight, just like you do. They don't pick randomly.

2. You cannot win on Normal by button-mashing. You must counter their strategy to achieve victory.

3. Level 1 is painfully easy by design to introduce you to the combat system. It doesn't start getting challenging until level 2 and 3.

4. The game is intended to be played on NORMAL. If you're playing on EASY, combat is just a click-fest with no strategy required.

Pretty damn spiffy

I like how you actually have to watch what's going on during the battles and how button smashing does not work at all. Makes the game challenging. Sometimes I can kick an opponents ass, sometimes I barely beat them. Sometimes they kick my ass. That's what I like about this game. I've only played a Jug so far and damn, it's pretty challenging.

I Do wish I could see the armor upgrade on the profile of my character considering there's no animation at all. That'd be cool to see but I can understand how time consuming that'd be to program all that jazz.

The one thing I really dislike about this game is that damn quest to find that damn dog!!!! Anyone have a solution to that?

My Candle.

RPG style games have to be one of the most loved styles of games all over the world. Everybody who plays games likes to be able to make their character just that. Their character. Their custom name, fighting style, what have you. That having been said, you can't go wrong with the RPG style, not even in RPGFPS games.

In this RPG though, it wasn't so much of a customizable RPG as it was an RPG where you could buy all upgrades in time. Nothing you could really miss up and hurt your game.

True, Talesworth Arena took a great deal of skill to play and made RPG and RTS collide for something of an annoying gameplay experience. What with your action buttons flying around the screen, it made fighting disturbingly challenging to pull off that winning combo. Battles not only took that great deal of skill, but also a hefty potion of luck. (as seen with good artifact buys and random chance)

Overall I loved the game and it's kept me glued to my chair for the past 6 hours, playing around with the different classes and such, but after losing so many battles due to random chance, I became discouraged, wrote a review, and here shortly will retire to the Xbox.

And yes, I realize you can interrupt an enemy's button randomization attack with your own attack, but some enemies reflect, stun, interrupt and do all sorts of nasty things all in one big combo, which leads to a very messy battle situation. In my opinion, too much luck was involved and not enough skill for an RPG.

Also, the ONLY boss that ever gave me any trouble was the Jester Prince, who was extraordinarily gay. The only character I beat him as was the Juggernaut.

I wont preach. Overall, Talesworth Arena was a very good flash game, putting many many other flash games to shame. Truly, there are only a handful better. I really enjoyed playing and I hope you decide to come out with a sequel possibly with less typos and luck based situations. =]

Best of luck to you with your flash dreams!
