Its simply the flash prototype that Super Meat Boy was based off of.
SMB, will play very differently and is 100% new.. what im saying is if you even slightly enjoy the prototype, you will LOVE SMB!

Don't get me wrong, the game WAS slightly challenging, but there was really only one level I skipped, and more out of boredom than frustration. To constantly remind us that "MEAT BOY IS HARD!" is not only lewd, it's misleading. The game just wasn't as much of a challenge as you made it out to be. Otherwise, a pretty stock-standard platformer with somewhat slippery controls (which I count in your favour since I'm guessing that was intentional.
Fun, but. . .
I'm sure a lot of people say that the controls for the game suck and are too touchy. I agree, but the game is still fun. It takes steady fingers to play this game and win. Too bad my hands shake.
Its highly recommended that meat boy is played with the Xbox 360 controller?
the controls suck... and um people that play games on the pc play them for the key board... not for a controller so.... yea..... dont make games for controllers
after the first few levels it was just annoying dieing because of bad controls
As much as I like this game and all of the super-duper hard meta-games that test the sanity and reflexes of the player, I just don't agree with the reasoning behind the game. The main and perhaps only reason why Meatboy and similar games are ridiculously hard is because the controls are deliberately made to frustrate the player with slips and mis-adjusted timing. Games are meant to empower the player with better controls, not the other way around.
That said, Meatboy is still a good game to play. Especially for its humor and will to beat near-impossible. That is why I give it a 7/10.
..if it wasn't for the controls. The game is not that hard because of unfair level design or anything similar, the problem are the controls. Jumping feels really awkward and landing is hard to perform as well as it feels like you would slide around for the whole time, you don't have the feeling that you actually control your character.
I definitely prefer IWBTG as the game was a lot harder, yet the controls were top notch, precise and intuitive.
Controls left aside, the concept is awesome. Intellient level design, cool animations, creative ideas (play a piece of meat!) and the villain...ha!
Can't wait for the release of Super Meat Boy for the PC although I really hope for improved controls.
