This is NOT Super Meat Boy!
Its simply the flash prototype that Super Meat Boy was based off of.
SMB, will play very differently and is 100% new.. what im saying is if you even slightly enjoy the prototype, you will LOVE SMB!
for more info on Super Meat Boy check out supermeatboy.com
its ok but..
landing between two flames, blades or jumping over guns is difficult, that and the speed for some reason is getting me messed up.
-Meat boy is Hard! -Yes it is >_<
It's cool to see flash games where the main character doesn't move too slooooowly. (Even if it's a meatball) In fact, the meat guy moves a bit too fast and it's totally uncontrollable >_< Otherwise, the game has lots of levels, a cool editor, band aids to collect for hard-core gamers (errr actually...why band aids???), cool gore effects and cool retro musics.
Keep up the good work!
I liked it...
except that Meat Boy slides on EVERYTHING.
Seriously, I could hardly get him to stop from landing on saws. I played only a little because of pure frustration, but I can see it's a good game. I'm only giving it a 7 out of the sheer difficulty of trying to get him to land anywhere NEAR where I want him.
This is a game that everybody should try. It's got a somewhat silly but at the very least existent story line, simple easy to use controls, and minor unlockables; much more than many games on newgrounds can boast to have. That being said it was by no mean difficult, I had no trouble beating every level in a few tries or less (with the exception of speed demon due to the games next problem) control response. There are a few occaisions when the game becomes laggy and the controls become extremely sluggish. To the point of our little sirloin frantically sliding down a wall into waiting lava instead of valiantly leaping across said lava pit to the other side. Another thing are the ethereal abilities of the missle defense systems. One of the missles can fly 3/4 of the way through a solid block (as long as one small part of it was not touching the block) and blow my ass to pieces. many of the do-over levels for me were ones where somehow I was turned into hamburger by missles that flew directly through what I was hiding behind (even when I was 2 or more blocks away from what I was behind) and toasting me. Collision sensitivity is way too against the player. it doesn't make the game difficult, just frustrating. Too many times I'd be sailing past this salt wall, then the tiniest scrap of flesh touches the salt which instantaneously destroys our cold cut hero. Difficult, not by any means. Frustrating, annoying and curse word vomit inducing, without a doubt. All that being said, the game has excellent potential, and for me brings back memories of N game. dodging missles and lasers jumping from platform to platform. if a sequel is even slightly improved from the original it would likely attain the same playability as The N game. thank you for the submission.
Good concept and fairly original obsticles.. but..
Your game design was fairly original.. as was.. the strange story. However.. the difficulty is just not there I found myself dying more to horrifying controls than actual puzzles. Fix the controls.. aka the insane acceleration and the tendency for jump accelerators??, to throw you into the wall. I did not try the joystick.. perhaps you had pressure controls in mind for this game. Either way the best way to improve your game is to add a few more devices to the game to make the puzzle complex. Perhaps you could have Up and down accelerators that change direction to a pulse, something akin to the original mario bros rotating flame, or even the old fashion disappear reappear blocks. Why the last one.. because it can put you in alot more dangerous situations than a simple "touch me and I disappear block". Hope this inspires some ideas.
