Its simply the flash prototype that Super Meat Boy was based off of.
SMB, will play very differently and is 100% new.. what im saying is if you even slightly enjoy the prototype, you will LOVE SMB!

Pretty much all the issues I've had with this game have been said already so I won't repeat them (the controls being the major issue I have, the person who commented below me explained it perfectly). Another for me, though, is that I don't like how when you jump while standing next to a wall, without pressing any direction keys, you automatically wall jump. I think it should be you have to hold the appropriate direction key while jumping in order to wall jump because I often am slammed the wrong direction when I just want to jump straight up (take for instance, standing on a breaking block next a wall and just want to jump straight up so I can fall and slightly dodge a flame below me without being fired across the screen).
The music fantastic, really modern and "cool" for such a retro style game. I liked the graphics but maybe a bit "blockier"? Maybe it's just me, but I love that old style retro feel!
Especially clever was you allowing people to skip certain levels if they were particularly stuck because everyone knows it's often the psychological aspect of being stuck which prevents you from getting through it. Playing a different level will usually help you calm down and figure out the one you couldn't earlier.
So overall, I thought it was a brilliant game, really enjoyed playing it. As everyone else has stated, the controls are horrible and non-intuitive, in the sense when you move you either crawl and fly forward at full speed. Maybe they're too sensitive? A control change option would be nice too for people who prefer say, WASD for movement and shift for jump. Not meant to be something against the game as itself, just a suggestion as a nice addition :)
Can't wait for the full version! (I think you should correct this game though for people who play this will judge SMB by the controls)
This game is an excellent Flash masterpiece. It takes platformer back to a day when it took hours to complete a single mission and you'd have to hammer the controls for weeks to get any achievements. At the same time, this game rarely made me want to break something, every time I died I tried again and progressed just a tiny bit, and it was a noticeable tiny bit, I could see a gradual improvement and that made me aware that the missions were possible and that I could complete it.
The music was very good too. Especially in the introductory sequence where it did sound retro with lots of bleeps. As the game went on the music kept a high-tempo and exciting rhythm that suited the style of gameplay perfectly. The art wasn't detailed, but it really didn't need to be, chucking in details galore probably would have ruined the experience, everything was very quaint.
The only thing that disappointed me in this game was the lack of control and the unpredictably lubricated blocks. Control felt temperamental, at the flick of an arrow key Meat Boy would either budge a unsatisfactory inch or he'd fly around the map like crazy. If you fix up the control scheme, which made it feel unfair not difficult, unlike the maps, for Super Meat Boy, it will be an absolutely outstanding title.
Impressive prototype, with a few programming tweaks I could see a renaissance in platforming! ;)
