*Update*
Second rule was not working properly, it now flocks better. Still working on the inertia problem. Thanks for all the comments.

The Boid Flocking Rule is a model for simulating flocking (wandering) with a group of things. It was developed by Craig Reynolds. It relies on 3 simple rules and all the motion you see is derived from these.

Actually, that is a lie, I used a 4th rule so that they roughly head for your creature, or otherwise they eventually fly off screen!.

I know the game isn't very enjoyable as a game as such, I meant it more as a demonstration tool. The link I gave is the website that I used to develop my Boids.

In the game, you control the red Boid and you must dodge the white Boids. The Boid does not stick to your mouse, only follow it.

Enjoy! If you have any questions about Boids etc., please leave a comment.

good

they are right about the game not being that entertaining but not many people understand the difficulty in implementing physics and math into games. good job.

thk123 responds:

Thankyou, I am now working on all the suggestions, I hope I can create something more actually fun, and less of a simple demonstration.

"I think"

You need to reduce the way the red flock gets apart of the mouse, make faster the approaching, add some more challenge, and there you have, a decent game.

There just aint'...

nothing to it. Make a game or movie with the things. I'm sure you could come up with some sort of project using them. Good luck........vp

its ok

its too easy for you to lose your "Boid" off screen if you move the mouse fast enough, that's the major bug.

it has potential

interesting

It's kinda hard to control due to the high inertia, after the first waves you have to wait too much for other white boids but still, kinda cool.

Yeah. like I said, kinda a demo, I will be expanding it in to something more useful at some point. Thanks for the review though.
